This....this is not going well. Sigh. How the hell has D'Antoni lasted this long.

I'm not going to lie... I'm actually enjoying their distraught faces. Give 'em a taste of their medicine. When all's said and done, Miami's next. We have some ammunition just in case we can't get the Lakers pick. So I think regardless of where we go, we'll get a nice prize.

At least Dallas is losing too, so far. But I'm not going to lie, I'm nervous that they're cutting it this close. I will be very disappointed if we don't see that pick.

On the bright side (I'm trying...), the Lakers only have one more back-to-back set of games this year (NOH, @POR) - should chalk up that Portland game as a loss. They haven't swept a set of back-to-backs all season, and I don't think they will. They are too old and too hurt and too slow to deal with it, and tonight Nash got gimpy.

Now we're reduced to rooting for opponents of Dallas and Utah. Maybe they'll play with more energy than the Lakers.

Go Portland vs. Utah tomorrow.

Just watch, the damn MAvericks are going to come back and win this game. That's how this stuff works.

Looks like Dallas is going to lose and hopefully Portland can bounce back from the blow out against the Nets tomorrow

Lakers are awful

Would like a Suns win to make this tank night a little better. I just can't see the Lakers holding on. Their defense is absolutely pathetic. I think Kobe needs to go back to "pass first Kobe" as well. They seemed to have a much better rhythm when that was the case, but I guess scoring points isnt' really the problem right now.

@mcten: Kobe Bryant has a bone spur in his left foot. He'll be examined by a doctor in Sacramento on Friday

fuck

Really? Didn't we just hear about his "worst sprain in years" and yet he barely missed time. This is Kobe Bryant, he plays through this shit. Dude could be liquefied by a jet engine and play in a styrofoam cup if he could.

Wow are the Suns bad, especially when sitting Dragic and with Gortat hurt. Winning one more game this season may be all they can do, and they might not do that.

Interesting note about the Kings. At 27-46, they are currently sitting in 10th place, 2 games out of 11th. That's playing at a .370 clip. Pretty bad but better than recent years. In 2015 and 2016 and 2017, the lottery pick they owe us is Top 10 protected. If they can improve from "pretty bad" to "below mediocre" (a handful of wins that would bring them up to .400 or .425), we will be seeing that pick, or at least it will be valuable in a trade. Something to look forward to, hopefully. In 2013, the pick is Top-12 protected. Not sure they make that jump so soon without some more significant moves.

Kings could also deal a crushing blow to the Lakers on Saturday. May be favored to do so.

our pick is doomed

After the Los Angeles Lakers’ 113-103 loss to the Bucks on Thursday night, Kobe Bryant left the arena on a crutch as he couldn’t place pressure on his left foot, headed to a specialist Friday in Sacramento.

The Lakers won’t fly out to Sacramento until Friday morning and said they’ll provide an update after Bryant’s visit to the specialist after a bone spur in his left foot flared up. Bryant spent extended stretches of the fourth quarter with a wrap around his left foot without his shoe on. With 6:47 left in the fourth as the Lakers called a timeout down three Thursday, Bryant sat near the end of the bench, removed the wrap on his foot and entered the game.

Sigh, Utah just a half game back now and Kobe with a bone spur. It's Cleveland, we all know we aren't getting that pick. How could we possibly be lucky enough to, not only have the Lakers make the playoffs, but also finish as the 8 seed giving us the best possible pick? Just no way.

Remember in Homeward Bound when Shadow fell into the mud and got stuck. It was a sad moment but in the end the old dog made it out. Lakers are in a little mud..may be a lot of mud. They can still come through. It will be tough. We knew going in the process of getting that lakers pick would test even the most ardent homer's will. Now is not the time to give up on the lakers.

They play better without Kobe anyway. Nash and Pau will go old school on these cats, tube socks and all.
