Trade Deadline ––> Waiver/Buyout Deadline 2015 (March 1)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cavs should try to trade for a young backup center that's under the radar like Jeff Withey from the Pelicans. Get him while his value is still low. A straight up swap with Joe Harris would work salary wise. He averaged 4 blocks per game in college. Jeff would be perfect for us.

I liked Withey a lot at KU, would love his length for the Cavs

Why would they want to give him up? They have a ton of guards and the only monetary value we can give is a crappy 2nd rounder? And they may need that depth considering AD is injured and Ajinca is playing out of his ass.

Really love Ray Allen and I would love to have him here at Cavs but after seeing how Bulls dominated the frontline last game, when Love was out, one more big is essential. Noah - Pau and Nene - Gortat are BIG. Marion as a power forward won't work against them considering how poor Marion has been this year.

Regarding KG, if the Nets cut him lose, Clippers and Doc want him.

We need a backup big before anything else. People wanting to trade Harris for Nelson? Gimme a break. Nelson is barely better then Delly statistically this year and has been injured off and on the entire season.

Hoping the Amare buyout happens quickly. KG won't come here unless he wants another ring that bad. LAC needs interior help. KG loves Rivers. I wouldn't get your hopes up about him coming here.

So they want him. Would he rather go play with his ex coach again who bailed on his former team (KG was upset with Allen for doing so) who was beat twice by the Cavs, both home and a beat down away in Cleveland, and get bounced in the first or second round in the West or go to a team who can make it to the Finals in the East with his help?

Going by what Windy has been saying, it's almost a lock that Haywood's contract is traded.

I think it is a lock we want to trade it this week. It is not a lock someone wants it. Takes the situation of a team looking to add high salary this summer that has something we want.
There is a possibility that we dont end up using Haywood in a trade just like an expiring trade exception. If they really want to add 2 players, they could always outright release him after the deadline.
Some posters who have not done their research are still under the allusion we are trading his contract for player making 10 million before July. Reality is the Haywood contract is not a major asset anymore.

Burning our last assets to get Ray Allen or Jameer Nelson would be a disaster. We need youth and athleticism, and we need a big. The creaking corpse of Ray Allen or an injury-plagued Jameer Nelson doesn't help with either.

The trade for Smith/Mozgov/Shumpert was so good because they are all guys in the beginning/middle of their careers who can actually move around on a basketball court.

Cavs are in a win-now mode. Not sure they can wait a few years for Harris to develop. Allen's contract will be cheap. If they can trade Miller or Jones, I'm all for it, but it will probably take Harris.

We have seen the end results of players not given a chance to develop and jettisoned off ,only to have the Cavs look for that same type of young player again ,which was redundant because they already had him.
I've seen this way too much and some of those players find a nitch with another team and contribute.
They need a player or two like that to grow with the team.

Fine. Found some speculative drivel...this guy sees Jameer and Norris Cole as most likely, along with other expensive unlikelies like Calderon:

Cleveland Cavaliers Trade Rumors: Norris Cole, Jeremy Lin, Jose Calderon, Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson Options For Kyrie Irving Support?
The Cleveland Cavaliers have been hot heading out of the All-Star break and into the trade deadline the team could look for some depth behind Kyrie Irving, as names like Norris Cole, Jeremy Lin, Jose Calderon, Arron Afflalo, Jameer Nelson and Pablo Prigioni are potential options on the market as the calendar gets to the end of February.

..................

Nelson is averaging eight points and is playing behind Ty Lawson, who is one of the league leaders in assists. The Nuggets have also been getting heavy interest in Arron Afflalo and teams like the LA Clippers, Miami Heat and Bulls could be interested in him. The Cavaliers are ranked in the top 10 in scoring this season and they have continued to improve on defense as the team has gone on. The team is 33-22 and they are just behind the Bulls in the division standings in the central.

I would actually love Cole on this team. He's pretty much a more athletic Delly. Plays super hard and gritty. His jumper isn't too terrible either. I have major doubts that Miami would give him up (even though they kind of owe is two) and he's probably going to want to get paid next season. I don't want anything to do with Jameer Nelson. For some reason, vets just play like shit here. I want as much young blood on this team as possible. Nelson isn't great defensively either. The only vet point guard I'd like on this team is Andre Miller. Mainly because he's been playing like an old man since as long as I can remember.
