Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I need clarification...

You'd only trade Carrassco for Schwarber AND Bryant?

I took what he said as "I'd ask if either of those players were available" and not "I want them both"

As far as Baez goes... if he was willing, I'm sure Tito and the front office would at least broach the subject of moving to corner OF with Kipnis...

Baez is more likely to move than Kipnis, who has developed into an excellent 2B in his own right.

I wonder if they'd listen on Soler as well.

I hope not.

Not as the only piece. If they ask for Soler instead of Schwarber, I wonder if they would get more back on the prospect front. Not a big fan of Soler, or any of the Cuban hitters for that matter, too free swinging for my taste, but I'd love to skim off a few of their top prospects.

My only gripe with Schwarber is that he is left handed, but when you're adding a bat like that to your lineup... who really cares?

Love Cookie. Don't want to trade him, but I would for that kind of a return.

LOL I'm not insane. I'd want one of them included in any deal with the Cubs....

I'd do a 1-for-1 trade. Meaning a straight up trade, no other prospects included just to get the best possible talent.
Bryant would certainly be one for one, but Schwarber? One for ones involved established talent- Kyle hasn't done so yet. Matt LaPorta was a shoo-in to at least be a modest producer too. Jesus Montero was in the same boat when dealt straight up for Pineda, too- only question was DH or 1B. Cubs got to add more than just Schwarber to get a proven commodity.

I disagree.

I think for the Indians to acquire the type of talent we're talking about, it's going to have to be 1-for-1. Shoot, we might even need to give up more than just Cookie and, to an extent, I'd be okay with it.

I mean, we just traded Brandon Moss for a top-100 prospect pitcher. There's just not a ton of bats on the market these days so you really have to over pay with pitching.

Sure, Bryant and Betts are proven commodities but Schwarber and Seager are easily the top two bats with prospect status. There's some risk there but those are some really talented bats and we desperately need a high-end bat.

Cubs are working the phones, Epstein will make a deal, he's known for deadline deals. Looking for pitching on good deals. -Per MLB Network

No recent mentions of Cubs/Tribe

Multiple teams want team controlled pitching. Whoever loses out on Ross may get antsy and overpay..

That's the hope...only way I would be okaying with trading one of Carrasco, Bauer, or Salazar is if someone overpays big time. I'm talking young impact bat and MLB ready starter return overpay.

Cookie/Raburn/Scrabble for Schwarber/Baez

No where for Baez to play here but since he's the odd man out, just give him to us. It's more realistic than Schwarber paired with Soler. We'll figure something out.

I'm trying not to get pumped because I think Indians stand pat, but a prospect bat like Schwarber is pretty damn interesting.
