Trade Deadline Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Scott Kazmir goes to the A's for a couple of non-essential prospects.

First domino of money for the A's in the coming days.

I would rather trade Bauer and not Carrasco.

I would want Stroman in any Carrasco deal to Toronto plus one of their toolsy OF'ers. The return for Carlos would need to be HUGE based on his performance and contract.....

Hoffman's stuff hasn't returned yet from TJ and Norris lives in a van in the offseason. I like Alford though.... Miguel Castro interests me too.

In really don't know if I trust Stroman long-term given his stature. Historically, those guys just don't hold up over time.

Any deal is likely centered around Pompey and one of Sanchez/Norris. If they'd throw in one of the power relievers (Osuna or Castro), I'd be interested.

I agree I'd be weary long-term of Stroman and his stature but man, his stuff is pretty nasty-- plus he's the most "now" of their starting pitching bunch if we're looking to compete next year.

I forgot about Sanchez because he's technically not a "prospect" anymore but I'd certainly be interested in him too. I really like Norris as a pitcher but he's a weird dude.

Pompey vs. Alford is kinda a toss-up for me. Pompey is "now" whereas Alford is a ways down the line but has a much higher ceiling.

I'm wondering, since Carrasco is an elite performer and under team control through 2020 that the Indians might be able to get 2-3 top prospects AND get one of Swisher/Bourn of their books..... The Jays could actually use Bourn. It's certainly a buyers market right now, the Indians could take advantage of it by striking early.

I would trade neither unless we get a proven four hole hitter. Any realistic ideas on that?

Time to dangle the following:

- Ramirez
- Chisenhall
- Raburn
- Murphy
- Swisher
- Bourn
- Tomlin

Swisher/Bourn are no brainers to move, but I doubt there's a taker.

Tomlin and Chisenhall are both due to be paid much more than they're worth next year, so I'd see what interest is out there.

Raburn and Murphy are solid additions for a contender, although they obviously won't net a massive haul.

Ramirez is blocked - Kipnis/Lindor are the future. You don't trade him to trade him, but if you can get a good ML-ready OF for him, I do it. He's a utility player here.

L-2B-Kipnis
S-SS-Lindor
L-LF-Brantley
S-1B-Santana
L-DH-Moss
R-C-Gomes
R-RF-Sands
L-CF-Bourn
R-3B-Urshela

I'd definitely be shopping Moss around as well. We don't need a player of his build since our season is effectively over. I'd rather see Aguilar or Sands getting his at-bats.

Might as well see if there's any market for Rzepczynski, Webb, or Manship as well.

EDIT: I'm also not sure about trading Jose Ramirez unless we're ripping the other team off. I feel like 2015 is Mike Aviles' last go around with the squad, and I wanted Jose to step right into his role next season as a utility guy. It'd be fantastic if Ramirez could expand his play to the corner outfield spots like Aviles has, because as of now you can slot Jose in at 3B, SS, or 2B.

There are about 4 position players I'd like to keep. The rest can be traded.

4? I can think of 5 for sure off the top of my head. Kipnis, Brantley, Gomes, Lindor, Urshela. Those guys you don't get rid of. 2 All-Stars locked up on long-term deals, a Silver Slugging C who plays great defense on a long-term deal, and 2 rookies who flash. Perez is close for me too, as we severely lack RH bats in the 1st place. And I am still not for trading Santana, though something big could sway me. Everyone else can go, though, except Aviles for the time being for obvious reasons.
