Trade talk already hot and heavy

Not a whole lot of new information, but there was this tidbit concerning the Cavs and Lamar Odom:
"A Marion-for-Odom swap might make the most sense for both parties involved, though I've heard there's interest in Odom in quite a few cities, including Cleveland, Chicago, New Jersey, New York and Orlando."

Maybe I missed it but I haven't heard Cleveland linked to Odom for quite awhile now.

I wouldn't be overly interested in Odom unless it means unloading a bad contract (aka Ben Wallace). Odom is a bit of a fragile character on the court but he certainly does lack anything in the talent department.

Exactly what we need... An underachieving tweener :gheylaf: that has to handle the ball at all times, plays with little passion, is clinically depressed, and would not fit next to LeBron no way, no how...

Odom would fit a lot better next to Bron than Kobe. Honestly, if we can bring him in without giving up to much you might as well lock up the championship. Pick and roll with Odom :O.

We could easily win 60 games with Odom.

Most likely not going to happen, Ferrys probably offering Wally and a draft pick.

That would be something. He would fill a need at the power forward position.

i wouldnt mind having him...but i wouldnt give up that much for him...hes not really a pf...and we saw that when LA played the C's...i dont think mike brown would want him anyways

Odom would be a good addition for a year. How would the Cavs get him? I dunno. The Lakers probably want a SF.

Lamar for Wally seems like too much to hope for.

Sasha & Snow for Odom? I don't think LA really needs to save money like that.

Ive been thinking about odom alot. He held his own in the west at the pf spot were the bigs are great so him coming here and playing pf and going up against kg elton brand, and chris bosh 12 games out of the year shouldnt be too much trouble. I think he would be a great fit here. He brings versatility, ball handeling, rebounding, and depth. He also is an expiring too. I would welcome him with open arms. If we were successfull with Drew Gooden at pf then Lamar Odom would make us look great.

Wally for Odom?

Wally would have the consistent 3pt range the Lakers wish Odom had, and he could slip in nicely at SF; but it seems like the Lakers always wanted more for Odom. We'd also save a little money as Odom makes $1.6m less and they're both expiring.

Interesting possibility.

Luke Walton. I think if Ferry offered Wally and Sasha for Odom and Luke LA might jump at it. Luke has a 5 yrs left on his deal and they're already regretting it.. Cavs probably not interested in Waltons contract though.

It could be nice though, Odom and Sasha both need fresh starts and this will provide that.

I wouldn't want him to go for a big such as Wallace. I like him here mentoring (yah I know he's mentoring for a lump sum of coin) and playing defense. Odom isn't going to be had for nothing seeing as the Lakers have a need for contributors due to the fact that they were in the finals last year.

I just don't see two contenders matching up this and for what?
One year of Odom and his defense (or lack thereof).

I wouldn't have too much problem with Odom..he'd create a lot of matchup problems for our opponents..
But I read that list of 10 players that could move before the deadline..funny on this quote:

Carlos Boozer, Jazz
Boozer has apparently convinced Utah GM Kevin O'Connor that he has no intention of bolting the Jazz for the Heat (or any other team) next summer when he can opt out of his contract.

But I'm not buying it.

There is just too much chatter around the league about Boozer to ignore. Given that the Cavs likewise had reason to believe that Boozer wouldn't leave them high and dry when they let him out of his contract in 2004, only to watch him turn around and sign a huge deal with the Jazz a few weeks later, how sure can O'Connor be that he won't lose Boozer for nothing?

:chuckles:

odom is one of the most talented players in the league but also one of the dumbest ones too.

I think Lamar Odom has been rumored to come to Cleveland every year for the past eight years now.
