Trent Richardson TRADED

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What stands out to me is the discrepancy between the perception of how effective Richardson is as a receiving back and the reality how effective he has been this season.

In 4 games for Indy, he has racked up 2 total receptions for 19 yards. Granted, he is likely underutilized as he probably has not yet grasped much of the Colts' playbook. That said, if they truly viewed Richardson as an impact offensive threat, you find a way to get him the ball - especially in games like last night where nothing seemed to work.

Richardson is at least an average player.

The same cannot be said for Weeden.

An average player doesn't get taken at #3 overall.

As far as the bigger bust goes, it's Richardson, and it's not really close.

Weeden isn't as much as a bust as he was a really fucking stupid pick, from the very beginning.

Just curious what you're saying here - are you saying that he is not average? or was not average coming into the draft? Sorry, just confused.

But I think my big view on this is that he has the talent... as does Ingram... but they seem so damn lost in the NFL and they have the shit beaten out of them already. You can even see it already with Lacy.

Beat up + not adjusting + lack of patience ... there are so many elements when I look at why these two (and maybe three) running backs aren't living up to their potential. I don't know if it is a mixture of all, a few or just one.

Poor wording on my part.

I meant, you're not taking a guy (especially a RB) #3 overall to be average.

Eddie Lacy has already looked better in 4 games than Ingram and Richardson have in their entire careers.

We're arguing bust by the pick/expectations they were expected. Not who the better player has been. Most understood Weeden was bad, and a complete reach. Richardson was talked up being a potentially all-time great, and was taken much higher.

His career hasn't been that much better than Weeden's in reality. Both were busts, clear bust goes to Richardson.

I'd argue that a top pick who can produce average numbers is still greater than a later first round pick who can do nothing at all.

In the grand scheme of things, neither met expectations but I'll take the workable player over the guy out of the NFL in three years any day.

Oh I know, but obviously he was already injured - so that is the element I am watching out for with him.

My waiter at a pho joint last weekend had a Trent Richardson jersey on. I almost told him I was a Clevelander, but I figured he was pissed off that he spent a cool hundy on garbage. Poor guy works in Raider country, there are no end to outdated jerseys available.

I just tipped 20% and called it even.

I'd agree if TRich wasn't an RB whose production could be easily replaced by a guy signed off the street.

When is it safe to say that taking a bust RB #3 overall and a 28 year old QB in the 1st round is the worst 1st round draft in history? Absolutely awful Holumgrum.

Richardson blows and he is below average. The reason I say he is below average instead of average is that basically any RB in the NFL can give you the same exact production he does... See Willis fucking McGahee who was out of the NFL and is old as hell coming off an injury.

Amazing trade.

Yeah, he's still worth having over Weeden. Hell, there are kickers around the league that are worth having over Weeden.

Richardson had real expectations of him. Weeden had none. It was a WTF pick the minute he was selected, and I think most quickly knew we'd be searching for another QB right after the selection.

The bigger surprise is we'd be looking for another featured back too.

.

1992 colts booted picks 1 and 2 overall. Emtman and Coryatt were both epic fails
