Yea, everyone needs to remember this.
Tressel knew about this stuff months ago but was ok with his players taking the heat while he never owned up to already have knowledge of the facts.
Basically, had it not been for Yahoo, he was going to let the players take the fall while he said nothing. Character.
I would say that Federal Government confidentiality of the emails trumps reporting it to the NCAA.

Here's Doug, the local Tressel-hater who has been clamoring for him to be fired for a while...or is it Aaron Goldhammer?
I don't know why I even read sports forums sometimes.
You are correct. But the fact remains that Tressel knew about this before the date he stated he knew about it. He lied. He allowed his players to take the hit at that time. In fact, he didn't tell anyone at all. I understand the idea that he was scared because the emails said it was confidential. What's so damn stupid is that OSU has a ready made university law firm he should have told. Why didn't he? What a moron. He could have covered his ass.
Anyway; the OSU suspension of 2 games is a laugh out loud kind of thing. If the players are given 5 games then Tressel should be given at least the same. Two games? The NCAA is going to laugh as well.
I know criticizing Tressel is a big no-no in here, but this warrants it.
Don't get on me because your Dad screwed up. Yes, Tressel screwed up. Big time. I was always taught that not telling about something can be just as bad as telling an untruth to begin with. Tressel was onboard with the OSU last December that they did not know anything until December, right? He didn't say a damn word, not even to his OSU peers. Not discussing the emails about a federal investigation with your OWN school's lawyer is stupidity at it's finest.
There are so many things wrong with all of this it makes your head spin. Yeah, I've never been a fan of Tressel as a coach anyway, but now? His character is a question to me as well.
