anyone wants mike james??
Albeit more of a scorer then pure PG, I would take Mike James in a heartbeat...I don't think it matters at this point of the style, as long as he can put the ball in the hole..

He defends well too...

Interesting that you note Portland as a trade partner, because they haven't been mentioned at all in press rumor mongering, but, Campy, when I spoke to him last week, mentioned them as one of the more likely candidates ...but, Ruben Patterson would be paired with Dixon as the likely candidates coming, and Luke heading back home. But, it was just one of three possible scenariois that were mentioned without him knowing at all where Ferry's preferences ranked them ....but, the teams most talked about are Denver, Portland, and San Antonio....

Patterson and Dixon for Luke? Even if Patterson's nuts, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

San Antonio? Who from there? (Nazr would look decent backing up Z.)

The injuries have exposed the weaknesses of this team. No proven backups for Hughes, not great rebounding once Gooden's out since we also have no true center, and no offense from the PF if Marshall's in a slump. If we'd lost Snow or Jones, the differences would be less noticeable.

Sadly, we're not as deep a team as I thought we were in November. I SUCK!

Steve Blake is who we really want from Potland. But I don't see Potland giving that up. Ruben Patterson really does not help us. Looking at the salaries and talent, I see it difficult to trade Drew there.

As for San Antone Udrih and Nazr are the best reasons to trade.

As for Denver, I am not sure what for what?

Blake is doing well because Dixon is starting as well. Those two click, and have been playing together for quite some time. Why else would he sign with Portland, knowing that he would battle 2 other guards for PG minutes?
Without Dixon, Blake is just another Damon Jones... pass.
Jarret Jack should be who we want from Portland. A good distributor, and big enough to be a good defender.

I don't think they have been offering Udrih, unfortunately...

Earl Watson.

Patterson and Dixon for Luke doesn't even come anywhere close to working under the salary cap.
I also don't see anyway an organization that has emphasized character would take on a disruptive headcase like Patterson.

I'd also like to get J. Jack from Portland but Portland has tons of young players already at SG/SF so they really have no use for Luke.
I wanted the Cavs to try to get a mid to late #1 in this last draft to take Jack. He would have been a nice young PG to develop.

Watson would be an upgrade but I still don't see him as a quality starting PG or the long term solution at PG for the Cavs. Watson is also making big money.
If I'm trading for PG I want a big upgrade and a player who can be a good starter for at least the next few years.

I see us making that deal w/ San Antonio....Nazr and Barry will be involved and I hope somehow we can get Beno....we will see though...i have all trust in Danny to make the right move but if we make this trade who would are starting PF be???

I like Jack. But I rather wait til next year and draft Dee Brown. Who seems to be the perfect fit for the Cavs.

You don't think Watson would be a big upgrade? He is arguably the best PG defender in the league. And right now is hitting 3's with some consistency. He is among the league leaders.

Mike James would be a better option IMO... We need scorers, we have no one that is putting points on the board...

James (mike) has the ability to drop 15-20 within our offense...

Or

He would be perfect off our bench for scoring....

Plus he defends...

Who are we supposed to give up, Gooden? If thats the price its not worth it unless we get a Aaron Williams in return. But still at that point of Williams and James, I'd really have to think about it.

He's not the greatest to be had, but I wouldn't mind him.

We don't more scoring. Our scoring is fine, (except the bench needs to step up) we need to play defense.

He's not that good of a defender.

I completely disagree with everything you just typed...

We have two guys scoring the points right now,TWO GUYS... When Drew has his head on straight, we have a 3rd... That's it... Our offense is piss poor right now... OUR SCORING IS NOT FINE....

We need a point guard that can score and push the ball, and hit the midrange shot.. (MIKE JAMES does that).. Plus, he can hit the outside shot...

We have two point guards who are not that gifted offensively.... I wouldn'y mind a change of pace... But that's just me.... Give me the guy who can score... We need scorers...

Also, if you don't think Mike James can defend ? Then you must not have seen him enough.... He is a very solid defender... On par with Watson for sure.. Might even be better... Larry Brown used him a couple of times along with Lindsey Hunter to guard Kobe in the 04 finals, when he took Prince out...

I'd be a little more cautious toward Mike James. He like Damon Jones have been a bit of a bouncer from team to team. He certainly is a decent scorer/shooter/defender, but he doesn't strike me as a player you would rely upon night in night out. If I was to move Drew Gooden, I would not be content with just Mike.

I'd like Mo Williams from Milwaukee...dude kills us, sweet stroke from mid range and beyond can take guys off the dribble..

Mo Williams would be good... But, he doesn't defend...

I want the guy who can score and defend, and is not locked up long term for a ton of cash...

Watson is... Mo Williams will be... James is not..

Maybe the Cavaliers first round draft pick this summer will be that man. If we keep free falling we may have the luxury of a lottery pick!

I agree Karma, In fact, I am not shocked we are free falling at all... When you build your team around an elite talent, and have non defending slow players around him who are one dimensional.. It was inevitable..

Without Larry, you have the same team you had last year basically.... That team didn't go anywhere, and this one won't either.... I was afraid of that during the summer, and that is why I wanted some significant changes...

Oh Well !!!!!!!!!!
