WOIO: Browns will take either Crabs or Sanchez

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah that's a good point, and obviously we need to upgrade the position, but Ray really made his impact in the 4-3 initially and then successfully converted to a 3-4 linebacker. I just think the drop off between Curry and a 2nd round ILB isn't as great as it is between Crabtree and a 2nd round receiver/Sanchez and a 2nd round QB.

who is the 2nd ILB in the draft because i have no idea?

I will tell you maclin is the 2nd WR who will probably also go in the top 10, and sanchez is going to be the 2nd quarterback taken.... um what are you thinking???

edit I forgot about rey... much much later in the draft

I said 2nd Round, not 2nd pick. As much of a beast as Curry could be, I don't see an ILB making so much of an impact to justify the 5th overall pick (look at A.J. Hawk- very minimal impact thus far). Rey or even Laurinaitis to a lesser degree could make a much similar impact at a later pick.

oops my bad totally miss read that one.

The Browns have so many holes in so many places, I'm leaning more and more toward most talented player available at the 5 spot. In basketball, you need complimentary peices. I don't think that is the case with a bad team in football.

If we draft Crabtree and he becomes every bit as good as Jerry Rice says he will be, I'd take it. If we draft Raji and he teams with Rogers to anchor the defensive front for a few years, I'll take it. Hell, if Monroe lands in our laps and becomes a dominant right tackle, I'll take it.

I just can't bear to stand by and watch this team crap the bed on the first day of the draft AGAIN. There must be some law of averages that prevents us from coming away from yet another draft with an empty cupboard.

Rey Lewis could dominate in the UFO defense the 2000 Browns ran.

He is THAT good.

The only thing I don't like about Curry is the fact that production from MLB is replacable at times. The thing that tempers that negative is the fact that Curry is a good blitzer who could change games getting to the QB as well.

I also follow the packers and A.J Hawk does make a big impact on the packers defense. His numbers and looking from an outside perspective he wouldnt appear to be a very impact player, but he truly is. This guy is really versatile and a big leader on the defense. If your judging his production from last year I wouldnt look real into it considering the linebacker injury problems the packers had. A.J Hawk to a lot of pack fans was worth the 5th pick. JMO though.

I think the Sanchez thing is a leak to try to get out of this 5th spot. Sanchez is probably the biggest player of interest right now and seems to be shooting up the board. I think the Browns FO is putting that out there so teams like the Jets, Broncos, Redskins (from what I'm hearing on the radio from Redskin fans Dan Snyder is in love with Sanchez), and 49ers, to want to move up to that draft spot.

Wow reading back on this...when I'm right I'm right!!!:D:thumbup::chuckles:

WOIO didnt know what the hell the browns were gonna do, no one did. NO ONE. Thats another thing i like about this new staff shit doesnt leak, cause mangini will have to wack them.
