I'm going to guess Breeze interferes in Ziggler's match. I would love a face/face match between Reigns and Ambrose where one of them ends up turning heel. This would be the perfect time to do it, with the face of heels being out of action.
The next in line are Bray and Owens. I can't think of any other captivating guys who will be able to take over that role. Del Rio? Sheamus? Barrett? Nah. I'm hoping it's Owens catapulted to the front of the line.
Given that there have been some rumors that the WWE may hold off on giving Reigns the title right now following Rollins' injury, I could see them giving the strap to Owens. That way, they could build him up for a few months as a legitimate champion before putting him into a full-fledged program with Reigns.
I'd guess the logic is that beating Rollins in a good match for the belt would have given Roman some credibility. Winning this tournament given the lack of big names? Not so much. I also think even the WWE isn't dumb enough to realize that, in a PPV match between Reigns and Ambrose, the crowd is going to pull for Ambrose.
What I would do is simple. I'd have Owens either cost Ambrose his match in round one, which would make his path to the finals easier, or have him cheat to win against Ambrose in the semi-finals. Either way, Ambrose is pissed. I'd then have Ambrose come out during the inevitable Reigns/Owens finals after the ref gets knocked out like he's going to get revenge on Owens, but then turn on Reigns instead, costing him the belt. Then you could transition pretty seamlessly into a three-way program between Owens, Ambrose, and Reigns, or feed someone else to Owens at TLC to make him look stronger and push the Ambrose/Reigns feud into a subplot leading up to the Rumble.
I still like the idea I had of Owens promising a title shot at Fastlane to whoever eliminates Reigns from the Rumble, and also to collaborate with the Authority to rig the Rumble drawing and have Reigns enter first. That would be fun, and it might actually get some people on Reigns' side. We all love an underdog.
Regardless, it's looking like the WWE's refusal to build up new stars and always rely on Cena and part-timers is coming back to bite them in the ass right now.
