Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Giolito threw 4 breaking balls last night

I think opposing teams have figured out the Indians can't hit fastballs and are not adjusting to pitchers well in-game

So what would be the solution for this? There is no one else in the line up that can do anything at this point. They cut payroll and Tito has to work with chicken shit to make chicken salad
Yeah, there's really nothing to be done. Call up Mercado and bat him second for starters. It's about time to start trying out of the box stuff.

Why don’t they just call up Mercado, Haase and Bradley and see what happens? Can’t be worse than this. Cut some of the dead weight veterans (looking at you Cargo). What a shit show couple of offseasons we have had.

Completely agree. Get rid of CarGo's dead carcass (although he'll probably hit elsewhere considering that's apparently this season's trend) and give Bradley PAs at DH. Mercado needs to be the everyday RF against RHP and slide over to CF against LHP since Martin is incapable of hitting southpaws. Send Naquin down and move on from this idea of him a productive ML outfielder.

Fuck it, why not? When Greg Allen has his confidence back, start him vs. LHP and use as a PR/PH late in games.

Haase is blocked barring an injury, but wouldn't mind seeing if that power could carry over.

They probably don't want to give up on CarGo so soon after already doing it with Hanley, but he's steady declining and didn't have a spring training. 2 xbh in 72 PA

vs. RHP
LF- Bauers
CF- Martin
RF- Mercado
DH- Bradley

vs. LHP
LF- Luplow
CF- Mercado
RF- Greg Allen
DH- Bauers

Appears that Meisel is going to write about this tomorrow

Allen actually profiles better against RHP. His bat isn't good enough now to get regular or even semi-regular PAs. I'm on board with the other moves though.

I know this is said often, and it is probably because he himself probably prefers to hit left handed, but his major league splits are very similar vs. LHP and RHP, just with a higher strikeout rate vs. LHP. And his minor league splits vs. LHP are all pretty solid too. I'll try to compile those MILB splits

Did this quickly and didn't include HBP or sac flies since they'd be negligible

Minor League Career vs. LHP
493 PA
.306 / .371 / .394 (.765 OPS)
14.2% K rate
9.3% BB rate

Minor League Career vs. RHP

Bad hitters can’t hit fastballs. No need to throw breaking stuff to anyone outside Lindor, Santana and maybe Ramirez.

WHY IN THE FUCK IS CODY ANDERSON PITCHING TOMORROW???

WHY IN THE FUCK IS CODY ANDERSON PITCHING TOMORROW???

It'll be interesting to see what happens if he gets shelled again, especially with the news that the Indians were looking at James Shields.

WHY IN THE FUCK IS CODY ANDERSON PITCHING TOMORROW???

This team deserves to lose 38-0 if they trot his sorry ass out there again.

WHY IN THE FUCK IS CODY ANDERSON PITCHING TOMORROW???

My guess is from the stats I said the other day, he was over throwing almost every pitch which cost him his command and movement. He will get another start or two to see if he can turn it around, but he is on a very short leash at the end of the day.
