Your 2019 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My guess is from the stats I said the other day, he was over throwing almost every pitch which cost him his command and movement. He will get another start or two to see if he can turn it around, but he is on a very short leash at the end of the day.

He made it through two thirds of an inning last time. How much shorter can you possibly make the leash?

Maybe he just throws out the first pitch? :conf (11):

Bloop single that turns into an inside the park home run due to the ensuing five errors on the play. The Benny Bill theme plays in the background, and the Indians subsequently sign him to a lifetime contract.

Where'd the batter come from?

I actually meant have Cody Anderson just throw out the first pitch.

I know we've talked about Mercado a lot, but I don't see any reason why Bobby Bradley shouldn't get a shot at being our every day DH sooner rather than later

Anyone who is paying attention to the minor leagues isn't disagreeing with this statement at all. I think we are hung up on Mercado since he plays CF/OF which was a position of worry going into the off season. With Santana at 1st base, the general masses didn't worry about the top 1st base prospect in the organization.

For the general masses out there

Bradley is at .315/.372/.613, with 7 HRs, 20 RBIs, 8 walks, and 40 SOs.
Mercado is at .288/.392/.477, with 3 HRs, 14 RBIS, 15 walks and 31 SOs

Neither of them though have a good track record hitting consistently in the minors and the strikeouts by both are a bit much for 111 ABs. I wouldn't be surprised if both guys see some MLB at bats this season to be honest.

I think he will get one more start since honestly last start was not the normal him pitching out there at all. I have never seen him throw that hard before and it was a bad thing. If he doesn't have a good start tonight, then it will be onto the next man up, which is either Hu, or someone off of the 40 man roster, Asher, Peoples etc.

Kipnis is at .525 OPS, if CarGo (.585 OPS) is borderline DFA, then Kip shouldn't even be playing either. Easily some of the worst money out there considering his lack of production.

Kip's dropoff has been real too. Was in the .800's in 2016, dropped down to .700 since, now doing what he's doing now.

I wouldn't mind finding a better, cheaper replacement at the deadline that sends him to an utility role.

Any Eduardo Nunez's out there?

And i know the baseball guys around here loves Kipnis, but the dude is batting between Lindor and Hosey, he should be eating. At least provide slightly better than average play.

I think most of us on here would like to move on from Kipnis and CarGo if possible, but for now we are riding them out to see what they can do. I think someone will get replace (likely CarGo) via the minors and/or trade in due time.

I think Bradley, Mercado, Karinchak all will see some big league time this season. CarGo had some good swings last night, so I think he still has some time before they try Mercado out in the pros, but if he isn't doing any better by June, we aren't keeping him around thats for sure.

I am also ready for the Anderson experiment for this season to be over as well. He didn't pitch poorly, but he really isnt 100% back with his command nor is he extended out. Let's just let like Hu or Asher/Peoples get a few starts and see what happens.

6 baserunners and 2 earned runs over 3 innings is pitching poorly

Bradley hitting for average is an eye opener. He struggled mightily to begin the year last season, and never really recovered from it (esp statistically).
He certainly looks the part, and the ball explodes off his bat.
If he’s still hitting this well in June, it’s time to give him some burn.

Last 3 weeks/since Lindor returned

Edwin, Brantley, Yandy and Alonso have hit 35 hr.

Indians have hit 34. This team is in trouble. Major trouble.
