Preseason Game #1 (12/16/2011) --- Cavs @ Pistons, 7:30PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Exactly. I would be shocked if he averaged more than 7 assists per game with these kind of teammates. 20ppg is more realistic than over 10 apg for Irving imo.

Seeing as 10 apg is unrealistic for pretty much any PG in the league ... :chuckles:

7 is too high for Irving this year. I'll put him at 4.6 apg.

If he turned into a quality big off the bench, yes.

People are always going to find hidden gems in the draft, we cant sit and pout just because it wasn't us. I'd bet anything that in five years most of the 2011 draft class is irrelevant in the NBA.

I think by drafting Kyrie alone, we are already better than 4-5 franchises, including Detroit.

We have this next draft to hit right on another top 5 prospect and then its down to lower in the lottery for us. When that top draft talent window closes, let's revisit that.

If TT is a bust, than he picked a damn good draft to enter in. Because I have a hard seeing guys like Biyombo and and Jan Vesely making me have nightmares about passing on them.

I think Jan Vesely is going to be damn good in the long run.

Yea, I went a little overboard there. But I think Kyrie is going to have to focus most his energy on scoring this season if want to stay competitive for the most part.

I actually totally disagree and I've said over and over I expect us to be in the high lottery through 2013...and that's assuming each of our picks become stars (except TT; I don't see him ever becoming a star). Keep in mind these guys will need to grow and develop together and as a team before they lift us out of the lottery. That won't be instantaneous just because we draft them. Irving and some rookie from 2012 is going to take us out of the high lottery for 2013? Please.

Who said he even has to end up as our starting PF? If we get Davis this year, I highly doubt Thompson is the starting PF of the future ..

I'd like to hope for something more than a back-up out of the 4th overall pick.

It's nice to see RCF in mid season form after preseason #1 after a week of camp following a lockout.

I really doubt he will be anymore than a role player. Thats not a shot at Vesely, but I just don't see many "damn good" players coming out of that draft. Not using that as an excuse for TT possibly not meeting expectations, but that draft was very poor overall. Veseley would be lucky to be a late lottery pick in most drafts.

Newsflash: the draft was really, really bad.

But we already knew that.

Thank Jesus we convinced the Clippers to give us that extra pick and bribed Stern for the #1 because if we had only come out of it with Thompson ....

Would Anthony Davis is projected to be the best player in the 2012 NBA draft. Its more of a product of taking the BPA than anything. If TT shows us that we don't need Davis, more power to him.

...half the posters on this board would no longer be here.

I think Vesely, Knight, Walker and the older Morris will be pretty good
