2013 Cleveland Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Please tell me you just had a brain fart here. I'm not talking about the Falcons this year versus last. I'm talking about when they drafted a legitimate NFL QB.

Four years is consistently bad. Four years is long enough for two regimes to go in and out of Cleveland. You're not including the Redskins because of their FA's? Well, I AM including the Redskins and it's because they managed to draft a QB that turned them around.

You'll start to see it when they're 0-3 and you'll DEFINITELY see it when they're 2-10.

And guys...IDGAF about signing FA's. At no point did I or would I say that FA's are the key to being a good team. The key to being a good team is having an elite QB and/or having an elite defense with at LEAST a good QB.

The Browns might have a decent defense and they definitely DO NOT have a good QB.

And guys...

I'm not "panicking." I'm just telling you what's absolutely, without question, going to happen this year as a result of not having a good QB and the sheer amount of miscues taking place from guys who have no excuse not to make them. It's as easy to predict as Tornicade forgetting to use a period.

Atlanta with Vick went 11-5, 8-8, 7-9 then 4-12. Add in Ryan and Eric turner and dp,r kry denfesive acquisitions and viola the atlanta falcons. thier 4-12 season they had 7 starters play every game compared to 11 starters the next year. their main defense guys for those thre season with boling, brooking and malloy. the addition of Coleman at free safety certainly bolsters their pass defense.

in the NFL you can take 5 different nfl 5 team rosters and some of them would indicate an under performance. depth means alot too.

Matt Ryan being able to take advantage of a solid veteran receiving core certainly was a big fact in their turnaround but there was other things involved as well. such as getting rid of warrick dunn 3 season too late.

The high amount of dropbacks skewing the number probably factors in.

Perhaps, the Jaguars and Steelers' terrible days have something to do with it? I know Weeden was the 'worst QB of all time' yesterday, but the Jags scored 2 points and the Steelers had a rough injury break.

You have to wonder if DeCastro gets some points off for diving into his own centers leg and destroying his knee.

Say what you will about Cousins, but at least he didn't do this:

Can't wait to watch our pass rush feast on that Steelers O-Line.

Ben will still kill us anyway.

What the hell was he thinking right there?!

Pouncey and Foote now out for the year...

Suicidal 2013 prediction:

Steelers go 2-14, win Bridgewater sweepstakes.

WTF was DeCastro doing? Seriously, he aggressively went after his own allpro center's legs.

Just talked to my friend from Pittsburgh.

Claims fans are calling for an investigation into this...

:chuckles:

Tonights Eagles-Redskins game is a good game to watch if you want to see things the browns narrowly missed out on.

Right lol? If the Browns werent the Browns, we could have RG3 running this Chip Kelly offense.

Fuck. We'll never have nice things.

Re: 2013 Browns Minicamp / OTA / Training Camp Coverage and Updates

If I were a parent, I would set up mini goal posts, give my kid a tee and a ball at the age of 2 and tell him to start kicking.

Facts:

1. You rarely, if ever, get injured (or injured enough to miss significant time)
2. The longevity of Kickers are longer than any other position
3. Making $750k-$3M for 10-15 years is a great plan
4. You brain won't be soup when you retire
5. You will be able to walk to your coffin

It is mind numbing to see how many bad kickers there are.

I'm surprised there aren't more soccer players try out to be kicker

Watching Chip Kelly right now and have to say coming out of the first weekend, it has been pretty awesome to watch the NFL begin to fully embrace the creativity going on in college. Teams are finally drafting QBs and building around their strengths instead of slotting them into a "pro style" system. Just look at Pryor yesterday -- he was making Colts defenders look like Hoosiers. And sure you might say it's one game, but Kaep, Wilson, RG3, Newton, Luck all represent a new era in the league. Pryor and Manuel are just more of that trend.

Bringing it back to the Browns, they should give Tebow a shot for the rest of this season and build a Florida style offense around him. I know this is going to get mocked -- but could it be worse than what we have seen the last decade? Run Tebow and T Rich 45 times a game. Use Little in the Harvin role -- he was a college RB! Throw deep to Gordon and Benjamin. Work the under routes with Cameron.

I know that sounds ridiculous. But after more than 10 years of fielding a crap product, I want a reason to watch. At least try something new for a season instead of trotting out the same old unimaginative five win bullshit built around an inexperienced, untalented 30-year-old QB. I feel like I've been watching the same Browns game for a decade. I'm beyond sick of it.

Btw if Holmgren sacks up and trades for RG3, does anyone doubt Chip Kelly doesn't come to Cleveland? Suck on that.

I am completely on board with the mobile QB trend, though.

Would you rather watch 15 games of Weeden or Tebow? It's not even close for me. And both would probably end the same way. But one would be a lot more fun.
