Please tell me you just had a brain fart here. I'm not talking about the Falcons this year versus last. I'm talking about when they drafted a legitimate NFL QB.
Four years is consistently bad. Four years is long enough for two regimes to go in and out of Cleveland. You're not including the Redskins because of their FA's? Well, I AM including the Redskins and it's because they managed to draft a QB that turned them around.
You'll start to see it when they're 0-3 and you'll DEFINITELY see it when they're 2-10.
And guys...IDGAF about signing FA's. At no point did I or would I say that FA's are the key to being a good team. The key to being a good team is having an elite QB and/or having an elite defense with at LEAST a good QB.
The Browns might have a decent defense and they definitely DO NOT have a good QB.
And guys...
I'm not "panicking." I'm just telling you what's absolutely, without question, going to happen this year as a result of not having a good QB and the sheer amount of miscues taking place from guys who have no excuse not to make them. It's as easy to predict as Tornicade forgetting to use a period.
Atlanta with Vick went 11-5, 8-8, 7-9 then 4-12. Add in Ryan and Eric turner and dp,r kry denfesive acquisitions and viola the atlanta falcons. thier 4-12 season they had 7 starters play every game compared to 11 starters the next year. their main defense guys for those thre season with boling, brooking and malloy. the addition of Coleman at free safety certainly bolsters their pass defense.
in the NFL you can take 5 different nfl 5 team rosters and some of them would indicate an under performance. depth means alot too.
Matt Ryan being able to take advantage of a solid veteran receiving core certainly was a big fact in their turnaround but there was other things involved as well. such as getting rid of warrick dunn 3 season too late.
