Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I will miss the big Russian. No more Rocky gifs!

That's straight from Lue's mouth. So it's not a narrative.

There's a difference between bodying up a fresh Andre Drummond as a starter and bodying up Andre Drummond/his backup coming off the bench. Both for entire seasons.

Draymond starts at PF and not C for the same reason--his perimeter game helps in that regard too. TT has no perimeter game and lives in the paint.
I said in my post that Lue has said this. I know this. Read my post before you reply.

I said there are FEW players in the game that are taxing on a guy like Tristan--not NONE. Andre Drummond is one of these few. Kudos for finding an example. If he's still playing 35 minutes per night off the bench, much of it is going to be against Drummond anyway.

I said we need to find a viable backup center. I know we need to. I just don't think Tristan starting is going to be entirely different from his role last season.

Thanks Timo. I wished it worked out a little better.
But close to 20 mil a year? Nope.

I don't think we'll have the capital necessary to get a young offensively skilled big man. It'd be awesome, but I just don't think we have assets necessary to swing something like that.
I think there's one out there..or they have to scan the D-League or UDFA's..once the market cools off someone will be available.

Was afraid we'd lose him to a gross overpay.

Best of luck to him.

Surprised he even got that much. He hardly played, it is like he averaged a double double for the Cavs this year.

I think Delly is gone, he might get something similar like 4 years 48 million.

Sanders
Okafor

Take your pick. Both can be had for a reasonable price & contribute more than what Timo did last year.

Happy for the guy, I hope LA doesn't eat him alive.

Why are we only talking about players who weren't in the NBA for the last two years?

Emeka Okafor has all but retired
Sanders left the NBA a year and a half ago - who knows if he's even worked out since.

There are plenty of vets who would love to chase a ring, and have actually, you know, played an NBA game in the last 18 months.

Indeed but not many are coming to mind.

If all we need is a big to play 12 minutes a game, Kaun can do that or there will be plenty of serviceable bigs that we can pick up for cheap. JR and Jefferson are the only two that we need back to make another run at the title.

Nene, Cole Aldrich, Chris Anderson even Roy Hibbert could come here for a year since his career needs some revitalization.

I'm not so sure. Kaun looked horrible out there this season, and I watched every game hoping that he might be able to show something. Maybe he shows a little improvement and more confidence this year, but it is tough to visualize any upside given what we saw this year.
