Farewell, Timofey Mozgov

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nene, Cole Aldrich, Chris Anderson even Roy Hibbert could come here for a year since his career needs some revitalization.
Other than Anderson, all of those players will expect more than vet minimum, esp. with the $85M floor forcing teams to spend money.

LA is going to eat his JJ Hickson hands alive. I can already picture him walking back to the bench with his head down and yelling at himself as Jack and company boo him out of the building.

I keep bringing this up like a one-man truth squad because - well, basically human eyewitness recollection is for shit and prone to all kinds of biases, not the least of which is comparing how he played in the playoffs to the regular season -- Mozzy actually had less turnovers per 36min/100 pos than he did last year. Know that seems hard to believe but it's true. Look for yourself

He definitely fell off, but the way people talk it's like they believe he turned into Greg Kite, when it was more like Pervis Ellison. Indeed, when you look at the stats, consider he turned 29 and had off-season knee surgery, it seems reasonable fall-off. But yes, he looked bad, and your memory of how he looked the year before is sterling.... just saying....

@ CP,

Are you jockeying to transition into being a player agent? Have you been been speaking to Kupchak on Mozzy's behalf? What's your cut?
:smiley 1poke:

J/k, you know I've stuck up around here for the Moz also. I'm glad he got paid.

He deserves the money. He was a huge factor in the two Finals wins in 2015 and almost got them game 4 with that 28 point performance. He was a nice guy and worked hard as heck. That's the good thing, not the kind of guy to let LA go to his head, I don't think.

This doesn't say good things for the Delly contract. I'd imagine $12M would be where that winds up if not more. Can Cavs go that high considering luxury tax only amplifies it?

Yes, I believe the Cavs match even if Delly ends up signing for $12 mil.

I also think you’ll see a more active trade deadline than usual. I do think we’ll offload whoever is less productive between him and Shump by then.

Hibbert was ranked dead last (76th) among centers last year, Timo was ranked 75th... good job Lakers

Live shot of Mozgov enjoying free agency.

I was hoping we managed to get him back for cheap and he goes on to perform like he did pre-knee surgery. But, I am happy for him. Good dude and before the knee-surgery, he was a beast. Very good rim-protector with a decent shooting touch. All the best to him at LA. Hope he does well. Thanks for all the memories, Moz. Adios.

In case anyone is curious why anyone would roll their eyes backward in their head full tilt anytime they hear someone quote RPM or RAPM like they were useful, defining stats (sorta like hearing someone quote Bridges of Madison County as literature)

It seems that Ben Golliver must find useful the RPM

I am all for analytics but watching the games is important too. Whenever, including garbage time, Mozgov was on floor it seemed like the CAVS were losing groung to the other team.
