He went from believing a dead rock smaller than the head of a needle giving birth to all of this precise order of LIFE giving life... to saying now, he is basically an agnostic.

Praise the Lord.

Just as atheists and their theories change from theory to theory due to "new information" :chuckle:, gouri also swiftly changed stance over night.

Went from certainty in one belief, to switching beliefs with certainty in his new stance .. And in both cases, insulting the intelligence and understanding of "believers" along the way..

Well, we / "believers" are not shifting like the shadows, just as God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, we stand in unity in faith in the LORD. Amen.

What they dont know, we do because we know the Lord. Amennnnn.

I have faith that the Lord will continue to work on his heart and mind and bring him to the understanding of the great glory of God which is made plain for all to see, Amen.

Creation can indeed come from nothingness and very likely did... but understand, I'm not making an argument against God -- I don't see the point in that, I'm just explaining the science behind the Big Bang and Inflation. ;)

It gets really trippy if you start believing that God is a product of the universe, and not some metaphysical being, but a very real and physical one. Then, well, anything is possible at that point. You could start thinking in terms of building your own god, i.e. ancestor simulation, etc.

Unfortunately you didn't read the date on my post that @Mr. Orange quoted.. that was from well over a year ago, not "over night."

Also, I never claimed to be a "strong atheist." I've always maintained my position as a "weak atheist" which, is an agnostic -- i.e., I do not know, nor do I claim to know, whether or not God exists, and if he/she/it does, to know what their form is, laws are, etc.

It's just sad that you can't put your own beliefs under any scrutiny or engage in any critical thinking of your own. But it's not my problem... You do you.

As get I older, I trend more in this direction.

There's a part of me that comes back to the assertion that God created us, "in his image."

I keep coming back to that when I think of how obvious it is that proven science and religious ideals are intertwined in ways we're still discovering.

If God created us in his image, and the science behind evolution is as sound as it is, are we not slowly evolving into our creator?

I'm a transhumanist, so, in my view; "salvation" may just be evolving to a point where we can affect our own futures.

If for example, we could simulate our universe in some form of quantum computer, and upload our minds into this simulation; wouldn't we choose to do just that? Creating a universe where (1) memories were never permanent (death); (2) egos were never permanent (death); so thus (3) you never got bored, because you'd never remember, and (4) literally every possible universe imaginable, even impossible universes, could be effective playgrounds for human consciousness.

If there isn't a "Heaven," then I think the transhumanist answer is to create one.

Why would I question what I know? Thats some stuff satan wants you to do. I know the Lord.

The devil is so crafty and cunning that you could look at a blue shirt and the devil could come along and tell you, "No, its green.".. and you say, "No its not green, clearly it is blue. I'm looking right at it."

And the devil could tell you, "No, its actually green, let me explain why its green.. [insert some non sense that sounds articulate and intelligent to captivate your mind]". And boom bam. You now believe what is absolutely bogus.. because what is obvious, he finagled your mind so much with the "reasoning" that you lost what is common sense. And all that gibberish rewired your mind / thinking.

And what if you're actually colorblind, and the person telling you isn't "the devil" but someone just trying to help you out?

Assuming people are "the devil" simply because they politely ask you to challenge your own notions is the fastest track to perpetual closed-mindedness and frankly, deliberate stupidity.

But again, you're free to do what you want.
