I don't mean to dismiss your work here because I'm glad you're backing up your points, but I put almost zero stock into counting stats when it comes to judging a RB's talent. For example, YAC has guys like Derrick Henry at #4. Chris Carson, James Conner, Adrian Peterson, Lamar Miller, Jordan Howard, Isaiah Crowell and Peyton Barber were among the league leaders as well. I think that stat just skews towards # of touches, and rewards power backs.

When you start dipping into things like YPC, I'm going to just check out of the discussion. Because you're the third person to bring it up lately, here is a list I compiled earlier this offseason:

I like Chubb's talent, but I feel we're using a lot of crutch arguments to try and take a good RB in a good situation and force him into somewhere he doesn't belong. We had this discussion a few times over the offseason. I can't remember if you were a part of it or not, but I'm probably not going to want to dive back into the "is Nick Chubb elite" discussion. It was exhausting.

For what it's worth, I have Nick Chubb ahead of Kareem Hunt, even if Hunt returns to 100% of his previous form, which isn't a given.

I think you’re misinterpreting the stats I am posting as one mattering more than another. I don’t necessarily care about any one stat......I mainly tried to grab a variety......YAC speaks to power, +20 tends to speak to explosion, YPG to consistency, etc, etc. Chubb excelled in all areas across the spectrum, that’s why I think he can be a top 5 back. Any player can be good in one statistical category. Top 5 guys tend to just be collectively good in a mix of the power / explosion / consistency stats. They just have all the tools at their disposal. Chubb, after 1 year, looks like he can be one of those guys. We’ll find out if he is.

Baker isn't probably top 3 this year, everything else seems plausible. Not a knock against Baker, but until Brees and Brady look human, they are 1 and 2, then there is Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson and maybe even Matt Ryan who he probably doesn't pass this year.

Its coming, but not quite top 3.
Mahommes skyrocketed past Brees and Brady. People that don’t recognize it have some weird hang up on a handing of the baton or something.

If you wouldn’t take Mahommes #1 today as your QB then honestly you’re getting an inferior QB

Brady just won a super bowl passing for 2 touchdowns and throwing 3 picks. He ain’t that dude anymore.

Brees had nearly 200 less attempts last season than his 2016 season. He has had a steady decline in attempts his last 3 years as they’ve shifted to a more run heavy team. Yeah 74% completion is stupid impressive, but he’s been tasked with less and less as the years go on

Mahommes is that team. And honestly people hanging onto Brady and Brees ahead of him remind me of the guys grasping at straws to say Kobe was still ahead of LeBron when it was so clear he wasn’t. The torch has passed. Mahommes doesn’t need to win a super bowl to take the mantle, he took it last year. Best QB in the nfl

The chiefs were 10-6 the year brefore with Alex Smith who put up 4k yards and made it to the playoffs. I like Mahomes allot, but want to see more than 1 year out of him, just like Baker, before i say he is the best qb in the league. He might be, but he might regress like RG3 or some others. I dont predict that, i think he goes onto a great career, but time will tell
