2020 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Saw that he also dunked on some dude today, something I thought wouldn't be possible at the beginning of the season.

He might be a legit top 5 prospect after a confusing start to the season.

Yeah, he did.
He is like a 3/4, so he fits our positional need as well.
What I'm afraid of is his frame and weak lower body. Not long ago he was considered a jack of all trades master of none, but now he is becoming more and more apt at certain areas.

The kid from vandy still intrigues me . Had he stayed healthy I think he would getting some pub, as a deadly shooter . Those are pretty valuable in the nba right now ...

Dayton vs St Louis should be a fun one today if anyone wants to watch a full game of Toppin. It's a mismatch in terms of offensive talent, but St Louis has a couple of guys in Goodwin and French who really get after it.

I guess Toppin is in play if they think they have a serious shot at trading Love this summer. With Drummond probably opting in, drafting a big is probably a bit less likely.

Has everyone given up on RJ Hampton playing sg in the nba?

How is his defense progressing?

Avdija's?
It's tough to gauge. I think he is a good team defender, but he gets whistled for a tons of fouls. Maccabi as a whole gets shit ton of fouls called on them.
What's popping out is his basketball IQ and feel, especially for his age..on both ends of the court.

I guess less likely in the lottery, but I still see a spot for a late pick/2nd rounder in place of TT. Ideally someone who can offer something else next to Drummond.

Would he be a slight or significant upgrade from cedi? He seems more athletic and longer.

Biggest question mark with Avdija is whether or not he can shoot. His 3-point percentage looks fine at a glance, but he doesn't take many 3's, and he's shooting just 51% from the line. Physically he'd be great at the 2 or the 3, but if he gets shuffled into a small-ball 4 role because of his poor shooting he's a lot less interesting. That's my take anyway.

It depends.
If Cedi guarded 2's he would be much better than what he is today. Same for Avdija.. if he proved to be weak and had to guard 4's and get out muscled every night then it would be an issue. I can't tell how he would fare physically and how long it would take him to get there as his frame is probably one of his biggest drawbacks.
Avdija maybe a better SF defender until he matures physically.. but what makes him a good 4 is that his weakside rotations and recovery, mainly inside the arc is what makes him a solid defender, and as a 4 you get a much larger dose of it compared to mostly guarding SFs.
His ceiling is not of a tweener because to me POTENTIALLY he can play so many positions...even 1-4. But until he becomes consistent as a shooter and adds a bit of mass then his position is less clear..on both ends.
Like I said, he is a very high IQ player.

Really improved his mechanics and percentages as a 3 point shooter. Consistent from the corner and there is a signifcant uptick in his off the dribble 3pt attempts and makes.
Needs to improve his FT obviously.

Can't argue with that...I'm about ready to pencil him in as a top-5 pick given the dearth of quality wings in this draft, and that free throw percentage is the one little thing that makes me pause.

What do people think of Devin Vassell? Arguably the best player on one of the best teams in the country, excellent efficiency and defensive numbers. I've seen him lurking in the teens and 20's of mocks, but he seems like he could go much higher given how fluid this draft is. He's among the youngest sophomores, turning 20 in late August.
