Where's the matter of opinion?
Sure seemed like
@CATS44 was discussing the factual outcome of previous statements.
Discussing that topic isn't a matter of opinion.
Actually, people have all sorts of opinions about whether a given factual claim is true. The place for posting about such virus-related factual assertions isn't in here.
I bolded the language in his post that was problematic. It was literally the exact same language about the "Mendoza line" for which someone on the "other side" got a warning a week ago:
Rona is batting well below the mendoza line.
The post by
@Lord Mar was basically arguing that "this virus hasn't been as bad as some have claimed", and the second post by
@CATS44 was the mirror image: "it's worse than has been claimed."
Both posts invite an argument about the severity of the virus overall, and this is not the forum for such debates.
As soon as we open up this forum to those kind of comments about the virus generally, the crap will get out of hand with veiled dig about politicians, people "not believing in science", posting of various virus (not baseball) related articles and arguments, etc.. Because that's what
always ends up happening, and then a lot of good posters who don't want to read that crap will leave.
This is the place to discuss baseball, not the virus., and there are ways to discuss the potential impact of the virus on baseball without crossing that line.
