Andre Drummond - LeBron's Robin

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bottom line is that the way the game is played today, Drummond will have a limited role on a winning team.

He can either accept it and embrace it while still making a nice paycheck or he can resist it and continue to play on shitty teams for the rest of his life.

I don't want to jump on his case because someone else as chosen over him to close the game.

That happens.

He played well enough most of the game.

But he CANT be sulking because of that stuff.

There'll be times they call on him to close.

Just...can't be that guy.

Objectively speaking, I think he plays better without Sexton on the floor.

Which of course, is a huge problem since Sexton is the closest thing this team has to a franchise player.

Don't you mean Sexton plays better without Drummond on the floor. Sexton plays well with Allen and McGee but can't get his shots with Drummond because Drummond acts like he's the best player on the team....Then,wants to pout when everyone other than him is taking a shot.

There's no excuse, why he should be taking the most shots unless our Sexton and Garland are injured.

Drummond is sort of in the way. Collin needs to use screens better

Drummond needs to be traded as soon as possible. This is a detrimental situation for everyone involved.

Siakam for Drummond.

Talent wise, that would be a great trade for the Cavs.

The problem with that trade is that the Cavs need expiring contracts in order to resign Allen, unless Gilbert is willing to go way over the cap.

Actually, the problem with that trade is that Toronto's GM almost certainly isn't smoking meth. Unless he is, that trade never happens.

Siakam has been baad this season and ever since his injury he has been trending down. Cavs shouldn't lock themselves to contracts like that in that part of the rebuild regardless of whether Drummond is fair value or not.

Cavs will need to sign Collin to a max or close to max. Extend Allen to like 90m/5y contract and still have Love on the payroll.

Optimally, the Cavs should get that last high lottery talent and just go from there if they want to maximize their ceiling. But since it looks really unlikely for multiple different reasons, I think it would be best to accumulate valuable, positive contracts in order to continue to add to whatever we have been trying to collect. The last thing we need is to have a bunch of overpaid players with no significant positive value.

That is a damn shame because i'm certain that this team could be a top playoffs team and a contender in the future if they just, somehow, get that last prospect they need. If not a player, then a valuable top 5 pick in order to get another star. What we are doing though is really impressive and fun. It's organic, and that's something I wanted all along. It's a different feeling winning with your own players rather than with a bunch of mercenaries. However, we will need a shit ton of luck, development as well as signing those players to good contracts in order to not be a treadmill team if we do in fact continue to play like we have been playing. We will soon be locked into a lot of expensive contracts without much means to improve as a result of our cap situation.

His contract looks hideous, $36 mil in 2023/24
