Ali Sanchez has been acquired by the Cards, presumably to back up Molina, so that their CURRENT catcher of the future, age 26, can get regular at bats in AAA, instead of rotting on the bench in St Louis.

Sound familiar?
Small edit....
Carson Kelly, the former Catcher of the future for St. Louis was dealt to Arizona as part of the pakage for Goldy a few years back...

Brewer fans are really hoping to land Justin Turner (if not JRam) to play 3B if the cost (years & money) is right..
What's being said is the fourth year being guaranteed won't work..

IDK that three years guaranteed are any better.. two plus an option/buy out seems reasonable.. The next 72 hours should reveal..

As far as JRam and the Brewers as a potential trade partner.. It's not easy to see the two clubs matching up.. IDK.. do you?

Neuse was a really good add for the Dodgers ... bought for a lefty reliever that was surplus for the Dodgers. Yet, for now, Dodgers are trying to sneak through with Rios/Neuse as a temporary solution till a better option comes around (maybe trade deadline). They have enough juice till then to get into the playoffs. However, think what it really means ... Chapman is off the table. No way does Oakland trade a possible 3B man if they were thinking of trading Chapman this year (or at least till they know the return includes a 3B to put in Chapman space).

..agree with this...

...the A's know that Neuse's best spot in the field is at a position that they have one of their franchise players, 3B Chapman. So, he MUST be off the table for trade if the most ready replacement is being traded..

..thoughts?...

The Dodgers as an org are about the best in the business.

Not only do they have more money than the Denver mint, they are pretty darned smart.

It took them about two hours to replace a 32 yr old LH reliever who is arby eligible next year with a 24 yr old that is still has rookie standing.

They acquired Alex Vesia. Vesia was drafted in 2018, jumped thru three levels in 2019, and made it to MLB for a (very ugly) cup of coffee.

His fastball is low 90s, and not much to write home about, but it sets up his devastating change up. He isn't Karinchak when it comes to Ks, but he is Clase.

I'm dreaming of a left handed change up to partner with two right handed missiles. I would have loved to have this guy in our org right now.

Think this might play at the big league level...

Sheesh.

Bonus points for having the cardboard cutout hitter available, very Major League.

Honestly the Brewers would like to get JRam to really solidify the lineup, but it would be very costly. I would love to get Hader, but that may be a stretch, but in my mind, we would have to get Hader, with Feliciano, Turang, Small and maybe like Taylor as well. Then we would have to flip some prospects maybe to the Tigers for Castro or someone like that. Honestly if we weren't trying to retool, we could merit a lot for JRam, but at the end of the day, trading JRam for anyone outside of a top 3B prospect who is ready to play now, I am not sure it is worth moving him. Brewers don't have that at all lol

I know (some) folks cannot get enough of baselessJ-Ram trade speculation but please confine it to its own thread so the uninterested don’t have to wade through the posts. Thank you.

Thats fair enough lol, I didnt think about while I was responding to his post :doh (31):

Turner signs with the Braves next?
Criznit: Why did you change your avatar to the one used by RenoDeluxe from “that other” forum that many of us fled to a Reno-free zone?

Its been said that Vesia needs to work on his command.

The cardboard cutout is taking no chances.

Surprised at the $$ value Justin Turner signed for.. pretty much three years $ 52 MM.. (two years plus an option w/ a huge buy out)..

That leaves at least one more LAD without a job.. perhaps the dodgers will be looking to make a deal that puts a prospect in their system that doesn't require a 40 man roster spot.. we'll see over the next couple of days..

I guess Turner's deal was pretty much a last-minute addition; a final piece added as ST is about to start.

An afterthought for LA, he would account for 1/3 of our team salary.

Apart from watching my home team, this season is going to be very boring for me.
