2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I know this will be a sore spot for some, but amongst others, I’m getting a right handed KPJ vibe on the way he moves with the ball And some of his body movement. That said, even on just a talent basis, I do see Green as a tier above.

Maybe it’s just the hair and the number 4 though

Really my only quibble with him is that he's so damn skinny. Can he bulk up to at least 200 pounds and keep that slithery quickness?

I’ll post their metrics later but they are miles apart production wise and Green is doing it against far better competition. I can maybe see the body movement but the end result, profile wise, is very different.

Why does anyone think Kispert is better than Hurt, again? I'm not a huge fan of either guy, but just trying to understand the thinking here.

Announcer just called Cade a "triple-double guy."

He has just one *double-double* on the season, and that was in November against Texas-Arlington. He's never come close to a triple-double. I'm gonna lose it lol.

Cunningham is just not...

He just doesnt have...

He's just not explosive enough for me.

That And-One really should have been a charge just now. The Texas Tech big man setup camp and was in a lawn chair waiting to take a charge on that slow ass drive from Cade.

If he's lacking "burst" at this level, he's not going to get free at the next. Even Harrison Barnes showed me more burst, though flat footed, while at UNC

No thanks

Cade apparently a finalist for the Cousy Award, which is traditionally given to point guards. No doubt he'd be the first "point guard" to win the award with more turnovers than assists on the season.

EDIT: Whoa, Cade goes to the bench and Oklahoma State goes on a big run. What do you know...

Harsh, but fair

They look pretty similar.....but Kispert is a little more impactful overall and less scoring.

The one thing with Kispert is just his shooting volume. In the past two seasons he's 45% on over 300 3PFGA from the longer college arc. Also 85% on a little under 200 FT attempts the past 3 seasons. His shooting markers are just so, so good.

Hurt has shot from 3 really well this season....but it is mildly concerning he's such an average FT shooter.

Kispert is a 4 year player but only a year older than Hurt, a sophomore. So I'm not sure age is much of a factor either. I'd prefer the volume as the safer bet but not a ton of separation.

Gotta consider the circumstances though, right? Hurt's elite scoring really stands out considering the fairly tough schedule, and the relative dearth of offensive talent around him. Again, I'm far from sold on him being a great NBA player, but he's certainly exceeded my expectations this season. I feel like his size makes him potentially easier to hide on defense than Kispert, too.

I see a deliberate methodical player in Cade. Nothing rushed or forced! Plus he just played against a tough Texas Tech defense. I watched Mobley too! That boy needs to get in the weight room!

Given they are likely to stand there and shoot, I guess I'd just rather have the guy who has better shooting markers.

Hurt does pretty much nothing with his size on defense. 2.1 BLK/STL per 100. 0.9 DBPM. 0.5 DWS. 109.2 DRTG.

I don't know.......his length doesn't seem to do anything for him, so I'm not sure I would personally consider it all that much.

There probably is a value assessment here though. Like do I want Kispert at 14 or Hurt at 35......probably Hurt at 35.

Yeah, tonight's game (2 steals 3 blocks) was admittedly an outlier. Needs to do that more often.

I mean, 6 turnovers...lol...if that's "deliberate methodical" Cade, I'd hate to see what happens to him when the game speeds up in the NBA. And 6 turnovers is basically what he's been averaging lately, as crazy as that sounds.
