2021 NBA Draft Safari

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
IBecause if everything comes together, I want a dynamic wing scoring engine over just about anything else.

I'd prefer someone who might be not as quite as dynamic of a scorer if they give you substantially more on defense and are a better passer.

True two-way wings cabale of guarding 1-4 are extraordinarily valuable.

Don't draft any short guys(Garland, Sexton, Okoro)
Or guys that can't shoot.(Okoro)
Cade/Mobley/Green/Suggs,,,there is literally no way we can fuck this up.

nothing can top the bennett draft
I tend to agree with you there. Why would we have wanted Giannis? Dion Waiters instead of Dame Lillard was a bit of a head scratcher too.

So his main appeal is being a scorer? Scoring is important but if he is average at everything else and an elite scorer, you aren't winning much with that. See Melo, AI, Lavine, Gervin and any number of other examples. I do like that skillset in a player but I don't see why I take Green over Cade or even Sengun if thats what I am looking for. How is his passing and defense?

I still don't see what makes Jalen Green a clear cut top 3 guy. I think he is in the thick 2nd tier with Cade, Sengun, and Suggs but I dont see why he is clearly better than any 3 of those guys. I have him behind Barnes and Mobley for sure, and probably Suggs as well.
This is probably the only fan message board that rate Sengun the way we do….lol

Kispert vs. Wagner is yet another "better shooter or better at everything else" choice.
At 6-14 I take the upside risk on the latter. (Would take Wagner/Kuminga/Barnes over Kispert in this range)

At 1-5, as long as they’re good size for their position and decent to plus athlete, I’m taking the former always. (Would take Cade over Barnes/Kuminga in this range)

I am resigned to the inevitability of Cade Cunningham.
I think the following scenario could definitely be in play:

  • We've seen rumors that Detroit likes Mobley. It's still not "great value" to pick him 1 overall, so they draft Cade. Maybe they even like Mobley more?
  • Everything out of Houston says Jalen Green.
  • That leaves us with Mobley, but Detroit comes calling and offers us a pick. Maybe they ask for the Atlanta Dallas deal for example?
We end up with Cade and no 2022 pick.

Man, that would be a disaster
