Why has this thread not been renamed to The Venus Fly Trap
I love JOK (have his jersey and money on him to win DROY), but credit to Malik McDowell for what he's done in the trenches. I watched him today and the attention he requires has allowed our stud Ends to be even more effective.

I'd say that so far to date Owusu has definitely been a better Jabril Peppers than Jabrill Peppers has ever been in the last 4 years. I'm not saying Peppers is bad, but JOK just looks like he's seeing 2 seconds ahead into the future when he's playing on the field, while Jabrill needs a good runway in order to take off.
Honestly Harrison has been playing in box safety when we go to the dime, that is the player to compare. And for the record, Delpit took over the in the box safety on dime packages when Harrison got concussed. That said, both have been playing better than Jabrill, but I wonder how Jabrill would do in this offense. It is kind of made for his skillset and was the way he should have been used.
JOK has not been playing a rover position at all though. He has been playing traditional OLB. Off ball LB, or what ever you want to call the position.
They are used differently, for sure, and have developed differently, but in my oversimplified mind, I compare them because there was some discussion for both when they into the league about whether they should play line backers or safeties. I had always kind of hoped to see Peppers play more in a line backer role, instead of playing him 20 years deep like Gregg Williams liked to do in his rookie year.
This play went for a gain of one, he's a different breed.
