JEREMIAH OWUSU-KORAMOAH

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I haven’t seen any detailed analysis but I’m just basing this off the replay during the live broadcast: we were in a zone during the Minnesota’s only score right? (Yeah, only bitch) Ward looked like he could have been with Jefferson if it was his direct assignment but it seems like Jefferson split and caused confusion: Ward looked visibly frustrated like “fucking really”

I'd say that so far to date Owusu has definitely been a better Jabril Peppers than Jabrill Peppers has ever been in the last 4 years. I'm not saying Peppers is bad, but JOK just looks like he's seeing 2 seconds ahead into the future when he's playing on the field, while Jabrill needs a good runway in order to take off.
And when he isn’t 2 seconds ahead, he just moves 3 seconds faster than everyone else.

Might buy my first browns jersey.

Yup. Looks like Ward expected help on the inside which is why he had the outside covered. The inside player (I think it was JJ3) went the other direction to help on another guy and Jefferson turned in and stopped. Kirk threw a great ball that got there just in time.

Stuff like that will happen though, especially with QB/WR pairs like them. I thought Woods called a great game from beginning to end.

Newsome is #15

PFF overall grade: 89.8
Owusu-Koramoah has not only been outstanding but he’s also excelled in areas many didn’t expect him to this early on. The Notre Dame product has been a playmaker in the run game in a way that few rookie linebackers ever are. He’s already racked up eight run stops on 36 snaps in run defense for the NFL's highest run-stop percentage at the position.

I saw that stop during the game and it never registered that he was so far from the RB before snap. The speed is just insane.

Myles penetration up field helped allot, made the RB make a cut before he was ready and stretched out the play. Then JOK like shot out of a cannon, sprints toward the play and trips up the rb for no gain.

Just insane.

Teams are going to realize very soon that nobody can run the ball to Myles' side anymore. It used to be a thinly veiled secret that Myles only cares about QB pressures and will let a running back blow by him. Now, instead of pretending to care about containment on the edge, he goes balls out and trusts JOK to clean up the mess. Watching them completely shut down one side is probably my favorite part of Browns games right now.

If we knew what we know now (along with all the other teams in the NFL), safe to say JOK would've been a top 5 pick this year?

Doubtful. He's still a linebacker. He'd be top 15-20 though.

Agreed. In hindsight, Mica Parsons probably comes off the board ahead of JOK because he can play edge, but JOK could have gone ahead of Zaven Collins at #16, and definitely ahead Jamin Davis at #19
