Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game # 11 | Cavs @ Knickerbockers | Nov. 7, 2021

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What are you looking to get by trading Rubio? If it's another Allen type trade where the team has a proven wing or guard that will be a restricted free agent who is tough to keep? Sure, look at it. But if it is just for a late first round draft pick? Let those poor young guys win some games!!

I mean to be honest i'm looking to get a young wing on a contender that isn't gonna be a key part to winning a title this year and then their late 1st.

I'd have to go through some teams, but that's what I was thinking.

Get an actual wing prospect.

EDIT: Just as an example. Imagine the Lakers didn't trade for Westbrook and were struggling much of the year.

Here comes Rubio, playing some of the best ball of his life. And there's Taylor-Horton Tucker.

That's the type of thing I had in my mind with Rubio when we got him.

Kolby Altman GM / Executive of the year?

Cavz are not even at full strength. This is amazing what we are seeing this far especially in light of a brutual schedule that was supposed to put us on path to another tankathon
That’s not far fetched at all.

1) He has to want to be here

2) Is it worth it if we have a quick 1st round exit anyway?

Things that Altmann has to think about that fans don't have to.
Yeah - this is prolly the biggest decision of the year. Lots of Nash career arc references on Reddit. I think a lot depends on how he feels and whether he wants to be here. I think there’s a chance he wants to stay. We’ll see.

Exactly. Late first round draft picks are practically worthless. Can it with the Rubio trade talk.

Is it a coincidence that the ball kept moving, and we didn't have a bunch of stupid turnovers with Sexton out?
We have had a lot of 24-32 assist games prior to tonight.

The ball moved pretty well in the first half as well.

The big difference tonight was three point shots falling.

Evan took the same corner threes he's been taking and missing all year. He just got two to drop in the second half.
DG took the same kind of 3s he usually takes. Got 3 of 4 to drop.
Wade was getting and taking the same 3P shots he always takes. I don't think Sexton being out influenced the ones that dropped.

Obviously, they biggest factor was Rubio's NBA JAM On Fire Mode.

All that said, as more and more game tape of winning plays and winning games comes in to look at, Collin(and DG to a lesser extent) both need to see how that motion and movement facilitates better flow on offense and now finally this year, is impacting winning.

No one is arguing Rubio is going to pout nor am I suggesting we trade him today.

So let's try and discuss the actual point here, not the strawman you're inventing.
The actual point is that this is the game thread, we’re all hyped about the win and Ricky, and you’re pissing on the parade with this “trade Rubio” crap that is not even a live issue right now by your own admission.

Just stop or take it to the trade ideas thread.

Cavs are 7-4 and we are having the most fun since 2018, but let's stink the thread up with trade Ricky Rubio fart spray

Wait, Ricky has a fart spray? I think i need a bottle.

No?

he’s obviously not untouchable.. For the right player or the right deal…it has to be on the table.

that being said, I would reject trading him simply for the purpose of asset building. I’m not just taking the best offer left at 2:45 PM on deadline day. But sure for the right price, there’s still only one true untouchable on this roster.
