Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t think Rich ever suggested it would be to get a late first rounder. He has a point. If there’s a young wing player available, maybe like Jarrett Allen was unexpectedly available…who knows.
I’d do a deal with Philly for Thybulle but I don’t think they’d be interested. But something like that I think is what Rich is talking about

I'm afraid of what would happen to the young guys morale if Rubio gets traded half way through the season. That sends the wrong message. I fucking know they appreciate his presence and guidance.

If we start winning and make a top 4 seed (what it takes to win those awards)...wouldnt JBB and Koby DESERVE coach and executive of the year?
My BIL is a NYGiants fan and told me some years ago that his worst nightmare was Eli would win a third Super Bowl because then the Giants would never get rid of him.

Hate is a powerful drug.

Yea, I mean there's a fantastic example. A team trying to win today, that needs a PG, and has a young wing that comes off the bench for them.

GREAT example tbh.

That this Cavs team is in THIS years Eastern Conference while the Browns are in this years AFC is really something else.

Meh. Just win and WGAF. Right now it won‘t be fun for any NBA team to play us because we go balls out with zero fear.

Every time someone has a good game it's "Let's trade him for assets." Enough of that. The Cavs have their 2022 first round pick plus Houston's and San Antonio's second rounders according to RealGM. That's plenty of picks next year. Most likely two in the top 35 or better.

The Cavs are winning and looking real good despite being pooped on by the schedule makers. Let's see how things play out over the next month or so. I swear some of you like tanking better than winning.

I said late first rounder because nobody is going to trade us a top wing player for a few months rental on Ricky Rubio, be real. The only team who would do that would be a serious contender who 1) has a big hole at point guard, 2) has a potential all-star wing they can spare. That describes a non-existent team

so when you talk about trading Rubio that’s what you’re talking about. Obviously if someone offers you a great young wing you would take it but since that’s wildly unlikely there’s no point bringing it up in a game thread where everyone is happy about the team and Ricky’s fit.

Who said anything about trading Rubio for an all-star wing player?

What in the world is with you guys?

He just gave you a wing who fits the timeline with Mobley.

And we absolutely should, 100%, be willing to make that move.

Ricky Rubio is on the wrong side of 30, in his last year, and if everything goes right, a back-up on this team now and in the future.

Our Defense with Mobley and Thybulle would be pretty nasty. I will say that. But his lack of shooting could be problematic with Allen and Mobley. But he is a beast defensively.

Guys,

The best part about this game is that tomorrow Stephen A. Smith has to eat shit about all the shit he was talking about Baker Mayfield and his New York Knicks got their ass kicked by our Cavs in The Garden.

Cleveland is gonna be on SAS ass tomorrow and if you don't usually watch First Take tomorrow is the day that you'll want to tune in for sure.

CAVS won handily, largely without FOUR rotation players.

Looks like Coach is definitely going to have to the 10 player rotation, which I believe was the original plan. Windler actually hitting 3's definitely forces his hand.

Is it ever possible to just bask in the glow of a winning sports day without immediately firing up the trade machine? Aren't there threads for that?

All my post was about was pointing out the dilemma. A GOOD dilemma, mind you.

But 3 weeks ago I'd say 80% of the board thought that the best we could hope for would be a good season from Rubio wherein he mentored the young guys and then at the deadline we dealt him for some younger guys who fit with Mobley long-term.

Now I understand that the first three weeks to the season have been incredible, but you can't swing from that all the way to "re-sign him at all costs" in that short amount of time.

That's how bad decisions get made.

if the team keeps playing like this I would not in fact trade Rubio for Matisse Thybulle, who is one of the worst offensive players in the league
