Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #71 | Pistons @ Cavs | March 19, 2022 | 8:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
LeBron always gets up to play when he visits town. He's 7-1 when he comes back home and he averages 33.4 ppg. No matter how shitty the Lakers are, that's going to be an extremely difficult game. I don't want to see Lauri or Mobley on LeBron because he'll just bully them. Stevens needs to be the guy.

This win once we got going late in the third followed the formula weve used all season to success.

Love started hitting 3's. Osman had a mini Cavalanche of his own. We got stops and got out in transition but set our half court D.

Then late in the 4th....Garland had two big buckets in a row and 2 or 3 great dimes.

Mobley had a beautiful assist to Okoro, a MANS bucket down low...and the play of the game making Jerami Grant his bitch after Grant did the same to us all night long. Mobley was sniffing triple double territory with a couple more assists. He was great passing tonight. Just great.

LeVert is perfect for this team alongside Garland. Its really criminal not starting him. He's being put in a position to succeed only in the 4th qtr and is asked to be something totally different the first 3 quarters of the game. It makes no sense honestly. When him and Garland are out there together, we just get better shots...we have more space...our shooters are more open. Both guys are threats to penetrate the defense. It has been everything for our late game offense the last couple of games since LeVert came back.

He has got to start man. Stevens will be fine on the bench unit. Might actually improve the unit. It can just be a rag tag unit of energy/tough guys with the goal of getting Osman and Love open for threes and playing off their spacing. Cant go any worse than it's going right now asking LeVert to be a #1 option for that unit. LeVert is a complementary player in so many ways. We need to make that switch man.

Shout out to all the rational fans who realized being down 12 wasn’t a big deal.

It honestly concerns me that people don’t remember all the times we’ve come from behind this year, and 10 points is nothing in this era
Doomers are really struggling this season. The Cavaliers keep snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

Oh look its the game thread police. NO. EMOTIONS. WHILE. WATCHING. SPORTS. ANYONE.

It's not about being down 12. Its about how we got there. It can be extremely frustrating and this is a game thread afterall.
There were people who said that the Denver game was ruined because we lost this game. That’s the irrationality that I’m talking about.

But either way, basketball is a sport of good stretches and bad stretches

I used to get really angry when leads went into double digits, but it's not much in the 3pt era. Ten years or so ago, yes, but I worry less about those leads now.

Im a little hurt LeBron didnt take the night off to pass Malone in Cleveland. So yeah, we definitely need to beat their ass by 40 for that.
We can do better than that Boobz. If we win, we’re guaranteed a winning season and we guarantee the Lakers a losing season. Fans should chant “thirty forty two” if we’re winning late.

It's just that we play SO bad for long stretches of the game. Blatant mental errors, lack of focus, not locked in, turnover after turnover after turnover, missed free throws. We shoot ourselves in the foot so often, so bad, it causes us to have to make heroic comebacks when we could have stomped them by 25 if we could just cut down on unforced errors.

But yeah, the in game posting is terrible and reactionary and totally lacking the slightest bit of perspective. Fire the coach, play this guy. sit that guy. Reading it you'd think we were down by 20, people giving up in the 2nd quarter.

Anything short of Cavs up by 18 and it's all panic and negativity.

If we get to the playoffs and JBB keeps starting Okoro and Stevens over LeVert, that series is over before it begins. If it's against Miami, Heero and Butler will be resting on defense all game. If it's Milwaukee, it will be Middleton. If it's Philly*, it will be Harden. If it's the Nets, it will be KD.
