Game Thread | 2021-2022 Season | Game #81 | Cavs @ Nets | April 8, 2022 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Twice now in the last 10 games I thought Bickerstaff had stumbled upon a defensive lineup that worked and he proceeded to yank the rug in both instances.

JBB has been running DG for entire second halves for the last month+. It's tapered off recently because of game situations, but in this one: you have to leave him out there to begin the fourth. The Cavs were in some control, missed a few lead stretching shots, but had seized momentum and had something going. I want to see DG get a breather, but this is THE situation that calls for him remaining on the court.

Lamar was a huge part of that. I know KD was on the bench to start the fourth, but sub him back in immediately when Durant is back in. Instead Cedi was out there the whole fourth. Cedi was working well in TANDEM with Lamar, providing help defense.

After LeVert fouled, we saw Rondo and Okoro out there in the backcourt for a few minutes. Brooklyn got the lead and never looked back.

Cavs could've made things more interesting in this one, I fully believe that. In some ways, this is par for the course lately. Players made some mistakes, of course, but I thought they played with another gear we haven't really seen in awhile. Coaching staff? Frustrating.

Just like after that Lauri cut off the Mobley feed to start the third quarter... Don't go away from what's working until you have to adapt. We all know this watching/playing the game this long.

I miss Ty Lue..he actually saw what lineups worked and stuck to them

Dude Ty Lue may not be able to motivate a player to give a single shit about the regular season but that man can call an ATO that JBB doesn’t even have the ability to dream about calling. Him and Ty Lue could draw up 100 ATO plays each and Ty would win 100-0

Bold of you to assume that a JBB team could actually inbound the ball a hundred times without turning it over or being forced to call a timeout.

I watched the whole game but I stayed out of this thread. Not once did I think this result was completely because of the coaching. What I saw was our players getting beat by better players.

Then I come in here, read a few pages, and apparently there's a circle jerk going on in here (as usual) to completely blame the loss on JB. You guys are in a little co-dependent bubble with this shit. You blame every single thing that's wrong with this team on the head coach alone. It reminds me of an ex-wife I once had, who filtered all blame in a certain direction regardless of what the reality was.

Yeah JB is far from perfect. But he's become a focal point for a certain group of fans. There's a couple of players who receive the regular hate too depending on particular biases (LeVert comes to mind).

Smell the coffee boys, the Nets beat us tonight because they're the better squad. It was to be expected. Our guys put up a good battle for a big part of the game and I'm mostly proud of their effort. But Nash didn't beat JB. The players on the floor are the reason for the end result.

You know you’re losing the argument when you claim what someone is GOING to say. Lol that’s surprising even from you

You know you’re losing the argument when you have to try and publicly declared who is winning and losing an argument.

You defend Bickerstaff at every turn and are consistently making yourself look dumb. Tonight is the pinnacle of that. Revel in it, because coaching like this is losing him the rest of the front office, ownership and half of his locker room in quick order.

does the cavs have concussion protocol ? Kyrie ass. Knocked out DG. Never mind DG is back up after rolling around for 3. min

Hawks up by 6 with five minutes to go against the first place Heat. We could be down to ninth in the standings within the hour

Worst part of this game is it feels like the nets just turned it on when they needed to to win. Like good teams do against bottom dwellers. Cavs have a long way to go. Just get healthy (and stay healthy).
Smart comment.

Why even have a head coach I say.
