Trying to compare the Yankees' catching woes to ours is apples to oranges. How many times have I stated that the lack of lineup depth amplifies Hedges' shitty bat? I don't know the exact number, but it's numerous.

I like how Gimenez's season is going so far, but let's not declare him the future SS just yet and you haven't seen Arias at any length as a ML player. Those tables could turn real quick like. They think highly of Arias so we'll see what happens. We won't even discuss Rocchio and Tena.

I have no problem with this roster being so young because that isn't what is keeping this team from winning. What's keeping this team from winning in the here and now is the lack of offensive talent and Franmil's plunge into the abyss. When your corner OF players consist of Rosario, Kwan, Palacios, and Mercado, starting C is Hedges, and your DH can't hit a barn standing inside of it then you're going to struggle. Alas, Franmil will find his way and there are some real hitters on the farm. I'm sure they'll make a deal for a bat at some point unless the kids make it unnecessary.

Laureano injured and done nothing .. Reynolds and Mullins have OPS of .679 and .684. Those were the 3 players that several wanted the most. A few were willing to trade the farm for Reynolds and Mullins. None of them would have added much to the G's as of right now. ... Can you imagine what would be posted on here if the huge trades for them had gone down.

Laureano got suspended and missed time. I wouldn't expect anything from him the first half of the season and Reynolds will shape up, but he isn't playing on a good team, so that doesn't help

Remember that the FO did exactly what many on this board wanted.

They refused to spend prospect capital on a significant upgrade...or upgrades...to this offense.

The plan most on here wanted was to play the kids. Thats what we are watching.

Its also much more accurate to judge a player on overall production, not cherry pick good and bad stretches. Nearly every player has hot and cold streaks. Neither adds or subtracts from overall production over the course of 162 games.

Folks based their positive opinions of Bobby Bradley on his hot start to last season, and Chang on his better last 140 PAs last year...while ignoring everything else. They also based their negative opinions of Amed on his ice cold first month last year, while ignoring the rest of his 2021.

No matter how he has gotten there, Miller has been 40% better than the average MLB hitter this year. He won't stay there, but he has a long pro track record that says he will hit.

Gimenez has been 34% better than average. That also won't stay there, but he has a long pro track record that says that he will be at the very least an average MLB hitter who plays elite defense.

Franmil has been 10% better than average since coming to Cleveland...but he has trended up every year since arriving....3% below average to 16% above average to 28% above average. This follows a fairly normal rise for a young power hitter. But this year he has an OPS+ of 57.

This is what we have....basically Straw-Amed-Jose-Franmil- Naylor-Miller-Gimenez-Kwan-Hedges.

Overall, its basically what most on here wanted....the youngest offense in MLB.

Now we live with it and see what happens.
Why don’t you just type “I told you so?”

Stay the course. After tonight the next 20 games are against sub-.500 teams. I would drop Reyes to 7th and consider replacing Plesac in the rotation with Morgan if he struggles against Detroit in his next start.
Yeah, we saw how well they fared against the Reds and Tigers last week.

I wonder why Pilkington was called up for the start tomorrow instead of giving it to Morgan? Maybe they're piggybacking?

I also wonder why they think Civale's "glute cramp" is severe enough to put him on the 15 day IL? Something seems amiss here.
I don’t know. A glute cramp sound pretty damn painful to me.

So what you're saying is that Gimenez should be in the lineup everyday vs platooning with Rosario at short.

Yes lol although Rosario has had a bit of bad luck himself, but yes absolutely.

Neither does Jose have lineup protection and that hasn’t stunted his offensive production.
