Another Naylor question... Should we be calling him Bo or Noah? Or does it matter?
I can answer.. as this has been answered in the past.. by his big Bro...

ONLY.. Josh can call him Noah.. for everyone else..it's Bo..

Do I pick up Franmil in my fantasy league? You think he’ll break out of his funk when he gets back? I only ask the hard hitting questions.

With the new Minority Owner being approved, how quickly will the Dolans integrate them into the structure? I assume they will make sure they understand the process and help them understand how the organization works rather than just blindly handing it off to them.

With the new minority owner in tow, should we expect the payroll to go up to ONE BILLION DOLLARS by the trade deadline or by opening day.

Asking for a friend!

If he is available, absolutely.

98th percentile in avg exit velo, 95th percentile in HardHit%, 93rd percentile in Barrel %. All of those numbers are either career highs or the 2nd highest in his career too.

Hitting the ball hard, just was not getting rewarded for it. But if he continues to do that when he is back and with the weather changed for the better, the power numbers are coming.

Every number he has put up in his peripherals is right at or within his career averages, save for K%. Big telltale signs there that progression back towards his career averages is coming.

We've got to give up every single minor league player in the organization except one position player and one pitcher.

Who're you keeping?

The Dolan’s entire search over the last decade for what they see as the successor to owning the franchise outright, whether that was John Sherman or now David Blitzer/Josh Harris, has had to meet a few criteria in order to even be considered.

There were a lot more interested names in buying a share of the team with a path towards majority ownership than just those 2 over the last decade. Even a handful of guys who offered to buy the team outright well over their valuation at the time.

But the target had to show they are hands off in the baseball operations side of things and will let the front office do what they are paid to do. Had to show the same affinity to invest around the edges that the Dolan’s have done since they’ve been the ownership group. And most importantly, will not move the team out of Cleveland when the lease agreement is up. The teams relationship with Cleveland was a big emphasis, from just being a team representing the city to being active with charities around the city.

That last one was the most heavily weighed one. If they caught even a whiff during the background/on boarding process that a potential buyer has had thoughts of buying an MLB team and moving it to a different city they were out. Number of candidates didn’t make it past that.

So yes, integration will happen and it will be quick, just as it was with Sherman.

I think it would be a solid bullpen arm, not an Andrew Miller level stud, and a right-handed hitting platoon bat. Gotta let the kids keep playing so you can't reach for too much too soon.

Someone mentioned him elsewhere, but a guy like Brandon Drury makes a lot of sense as a hybrid replacement for both Mercado and Clement that can be had for not that much (free agent after this season). Has played 1B, 2B, 3B, and SS this season and has played LF and RF in the past. Also fits what the team likes to do; doesn't whiff much, draws walks. Reds and Cleveland have been in contact an awful lot this past off season, so Cincy is very familiar with some of the prospects in the system as well.
Scott Effross fits this description. He's a bit of a late bloomer as a 28 year old in his second major league season, but he's at 11 K/9 & 2 BB/9 this season and continues to pitch in high-leverage situations for the Cubs. He comes with a ton of control and likely wouldn't cost an enormous amount of prospect capital since he isn't closing games for his team. A lot to like with his peripherals too, and most importantly, he's a native of Twinsburg. Lastly, it doesn't hurt that Carter Hawkins is the Cubs GM too.

Drury is hitting .327 at home, .212 on the road. The Reds have the most hitter friendly ballpark in the majors. Pass on Drury.

That being said he's got a shot at being the N.L. Player of the Month for June (.370/1.100).

.723 OPS, pushing a .450 SLG% on the road isn't concerning at all, especially when he is holding an unsustainable .224 BABIP on the road.

Should I temper my Valera expectations? Every time I watch him swing a bat, I get immediate superstar vibes from him. His slash in AA is absolutely insane.

I will say something here... Valera hasn't had a full minor league season, so they want to get him that if possible and see what they have in everyone else as well. Kwan and OGonz have played better than anyone projected them to which has kind of kept Valera down a bit, plus you have guys like Brennan who are way better than projected. Valera would have been moved up if Kwan/OGonz weren't doing so well more than likely. We will definitely see Valera at AAA sometime this season and if they didn't cut down who we could call up in September, he would have been up with the roster expansions. This season I see him at AAA helping with the AAA playoffs... If there is any injuries, don't be surprised to see a stint in the bigs. We may see him get a random game in a double header as well.
