Until you realize we may end up with a QB who was 1 drive of going to a Super Bowl last year and already has been to one.

We will be fine, we were a good team last year with Baker Mayfield missing a trillion throws. We still get to watch Nick Chubb chunk up teams and Myles Garrett wreak havoc.

We'll cross that Jimmy G bridge when we get to it.

I'm skeptical he's in a great place physically anyway, plus every day they wait to make that trade is less likely he'll be able to hit the ground running and start immediately.

Man y'all are too doom and gloom. Have you guys seen some of these other teams? I watched 4 teams last night. We're better than all of them. One of them is a division rival and the other was the #1 seed in the AFC last season. We're better than both teams even with Jacoby.
I think for some people, the grass is always greener on the other side. For others, this team is as dead as a doornail. For those who aren’t watching how good the QB’s are in the AFC, ignorance is bliss.

No matter which way you slice it, this team does bring a lot to the table. Without Watson, this year is going to be an uphill battle. If the Browns play their cards right, a couple of these home games are low-hanging fruit and they should have them well in hand early on.

Even if Watson comes back in game 12, and they’re playing .500 ball, it’s better late than never. If you read between the lines on the punishment situation, I think we’re just going to have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

The defense has to step up and be a top 5 defense and create turnovers and Stefanski had to use both hunt and chubb together

I think there is enough talent to make the playoffs even with a crap QB. Great offensive line, an incredible backfield, and a coach who supposedly prefers a run first dink and dunk offense. If this is to be believed, a 'game manager' like Brissett should flourish here and the Browns should be fine. I don't think Jimmuh 2.0 is neccesary for the playoffs.

I understand the point you are making here, and I don't disagree about all of DW's major issues, but you really dont think the NFL has any part in this?
They aren't completely absolved, but they aren't the reason we're in this situation.

If Watson never sexually harassed dozens of women, we aren't here. If the front office didn't trade for Watson, we aren't here.

I'm glad we traded for him. I'm not saying we shouldn't have. It's just the principal driver of why we're here.

They dont seem to be purposefully slow playing and making it excruciatingly obvious what they are doing to you? How else can you explain this entire process taking so much longer than it should have? Harvey has had over a week now to review a 13 page document and it's still not looking particularly close to him making a decision. Does that honestly not seem at least a little suspicious to you?

This is what I expect. I have no respect for the league. I expect them to be slow, incompetent, and fuck it up.

But, remember the Zeke thing? How long did that hang over all of our heads (especially in fantasy)? I feel that this is speedy in comparison. Baby steps :chuckle:

With Brissett, I have the following teams in the AFC ahead of us (in no order):
  1. Ravens
  2. Bills
  3. Bengals
  4. Broncos
  5. Colts
  6. Chiefs
  7. Chargers
With Watson, here's my list of teams in the entire NFL I have ahead of us:
  1. Bills

You really said a lot with those words there.

At the end of the day, it's about scoring more points than the other team. If the Browns can do that, they'll be fine. They just have to show up every day and give 110%. If they do that, then good things will happen. They can't take things for granted, because on any given Sunday, anybody can beat anybody else.

A new idea would be for the coaches and the team to “look at the tape” and make corrections. Honestly, you do not hear enough about this, so i hope it is a priority this year — especially with Watson’s suspension.

Really, really important to just get better everyday and take it one week at a time.

John Madden, is that you?

I love watching a dominant D.

You’re basing this off of one pre season game?
