Deshaun Watson: Third Highest Paid QB in the AFC North (OUT for 2023)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Browns were in the playoff hunt @ 6-5 after 11 games last season, even with an anxious & injured QB, OL injuries and a dysfunctional receiver room.

Browns can go 6-5 with a potted plant at QB in 2022 if that plant can stick to the game plan.

Then we get to see if Watson can take the team to 11 & 6.

Yep I see the Browns as pretty big winners now. Once this little suspension is over, we got our guy for 4.33 years and probably more like 10.

That first preseason game was rough. Is he going to get snaps this weekend? I would hope so. Does anyone know?

I believe Stefanski said he will not play in any remaining preseason games.

There's no reason to risk injury with him in a meaningless preseason game when you need to start getting Brissett and Dobbs ready, and also figure out if you want to keep Rosen as your third QB or look for an upgrade.

Watson will not play the rest of the preseason.

I’d imagine that Brissett won’t either. Maybe extremely limited snaps in Game 3.

We need to get this guy another WR next year in R2 and always need OL depth. This year is what it is, but 2023 we should be SB contenders.

Watson should be playing these games.
Let's see how many NFL coaches are risking their veteran franchise QB's by putting them out there in meaningless preseason games.

I wonder how opposing defenders would feel with public enemy #1 on the field. Do you think there's a chance they might be more likely to injure him?

Also, I'm sure a few meaningless preseason game reps now will help 4 months from now when Watson finally steps on the field for the first time in the regular season.

He needs the reps. I doubt more than 1 percent of football players look at him as an enemy of the public.

I don't think Watson needs to be playing anymore in the preseason either, but I suspect the vast majority of NFL players don't consider him a bad guy in any respect.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Odell resign at this point. His time frame to return seems like it'd about lineup with Watson's.
