Would be nice if they could get him to sign too.

Baker isn’t the big bad wolf. He also isn’t the bad person or bad QB he was made out to be either. That narrative was necessary to get him out of town once things went south during that injury-plagued season where he should have been pulled sooner.
This isn’t the same Browns team as the first 20 years, but it is the same one as the last 2. The last two teams under Stef have been completely unprepared and/or unmotivated for the first game of the season. They’ve been absolutely crushed by playoff teams.
Maybe the Panthers aren’t as good as the Ravens or Titans, but the Browns have a more limited QB, a questionable OL and poor receivers. Defenses will load up against an elite run game. The backs will break through at times because of how good they are, but they won’t have much room to do it. This offense is going to struggle big time for the first 11 games. Teams will have short fields to work with and put a lot of pressure on a defense that is talented, but not perfect.
A highly motivated Baker with short fields is going to get some big plays and make this one ugly. I’m picturing what Baker has done to Cincy starting with the Hue game.
Everyone outside of Cleveland wants it and the Browns always come through with that disappointment. I don’t see an exception here.
30-17 Panthers.
Browns will play teams closer for the next ten games, but still won’t be very good. You flat out need a good QB in this league and they have a mediocre one with a really weak receiving corps.
I think Jeff Garcia is a pretty good comp in terms of skill set and trajectory.Baker may not be a *bad* person, and isn't a *bad* QB, but hes absolutely a douchebag person who is somewhere (from a personality and skills perspective) between Jeff Garcia and Johnny Manziel. The personality and play get excused by some, labeled as "moxie" and because the franchise has been woefully bad the last 20yrs.
*I*, and i suspect many in the franchise (and fanbase), find the personality annoying and the schizophrenic play frustrating. I don't wish ill on him, but his expressions of personality since make me certainly glad hes gone and wouldnt be upset if he fell flat on his face. Often.

Credit to @AZ_ who def made that comp and may have taken some shit for it.
I bet you can’t even shoot out of a triple threat position.Still an absolutely horrendous comp to this day.
It's semantics. AJ Green was on the roster in Sept in his rookie year.Pretty remarkable stat, especially considering he is a 25 year old rookie from a D2 school—

Like a rotund Jeff Garcia.
Jeff Garcia was REALLY fucking good.
People want to take that as some sort of dig because of how insecure they are, but actually looking at Garcia at his peak is exactly what we hope Mayfield would be.
7+ YPA, 90+ QB rating, 60+ completion percentage
Multiple consecutive Pro Bowls
Playing styles are really similar. If he turns into a rich-mans Garcia, I'm all for it.
People should stop being so insecure and dishonest about what was said about Mayfield pre-draft.
Not too many huge surprises but I'd expect at least a couple more corresponding moves..
DL, OL and RB room seem heavy while WR and TE seem light...
Forbes/Froholdt, Winovich/Rochell and DEJ all seem like the next to go if they need to make a corresponding move... Bell and Kunasyzk could be cut and brought back in a corresponding move as well...

Yep.
My guess is one of Forbes/Froholdt and one of Winovich/Rochell are sent out tomorrow with the Browns bring in a TE and a WR off waivers.
