I don’t think reality HAD to be like this, though. Nobody FORCED the front office to go with the “start a bunch of rookies and hope for the best” strategy. The division was there for the taking, with a few reinforcements.
 
Seriously, though - it’s obvious how demoralized everyone is. It’s like they KNOW how remote the chance of scoring a run is. There’s no one on the team you can count on to give the team a boost. Even Bieber, the losing-streak stopper, crapped down his leg.
 
The pressure of winning ball games while leading the division is clearly getting to them. Hitters are pressing to do something.
 
What are the odds that this upcoming trio will swing at more than 2 ball 4's?
 
I guess you have to make it to ball 3 before you get ball 4...
