For S&G's let's say that Brennan continues to perform just as he has all season. The OF defense immediately becomes the best in baseball when Kwan, Straw and Brennan are out there. The offensive improvement is significant as well. Brennan could/would become your 2 hole hitter effectively moving Rosario and his low OBP down in the order.
I've been thinking about this. What does "just as he has all season" really mean? Identical numbers or...
Lower BABIP
Less power because of stadium dimensions/baseballs/better pitching
Less walks because pitchers throw him more strikes
More strikeouts because pitchers are better

Fangraphs projections have him at .261/.318/.361 which really just factors all this in. The good thing is that it's still a 95 wRC+ which if he is able to defensively handle his position will put him in good position to provide some solid value for his ball club as a starter in the bottom part of the order.

This is a team that was throwing out Mercado and Zimmer a year ago and don't get me started on Miller, so hell I'll take that triple slash.

Fangraphs Defensive Rating is generous because it is a heavily flawed metric.

Oscar's route efficiency in the OF is worse than Franmil's has ever been, bottom 10th percentile amongst all qualified defenders.

Not only does he take poor routes, he gets poor jumps on the ball. 18th percentile in jump efficiency amongst all qualified defenders.

Couple those together and he makes less outs in RF than the average player should. His -4 outs above average figure right now would be Franmil's worst season since 2018.

Now please, someone go grave dig on how I said Oscar is Franmil-esque in the OF again like I was wrong.
I love this stuff.

Because as fans, we don't get to see this. It's not like the camera is focuses on the outfielder when the hitter makes contact.

All we get to see is the last half of the defensive play--where, to my eye, Oscar looks more athletic and mobile than Franmil ever did.

I hope this is like the "Jose might sign an extension" sort of pumping the brakes
I think it's somewhere between Jose and Lindor.

I don't believe that Bieber loves it here the way Jose does. Shane might like it here, but Jose seems to take a ton of pride in the way he's turned the Cleveland organization into his home.

I don't think it's a certainty that Bieber tests free agency.

In Meisel’s new article, he said Carlos Rodon rejected a 3 year deal from us in off-season.
This FO truly moves in silence. It's rare that they telegraph a trade or FA signing, whether just attempted or actually consummated.

At first you think WOW ... we actually tried like on Olson and some others (Drury and Mahle at deadline). Yet, we also have to remember Guardians MO ... win everything (every trade, FA signing, etc.) So, for every other team, 5 pokers in the fire and one will pay off. We need 20 or so for one to payoff. It is just the way things are. They are always looking for a deal and some GMs have even said it is a pain to work for them (as it may seem to be a waste of time).

I don’t like the way Cleveland is playing, I love it...that’s the best baseball I’ve seen in 20 years. - Ozzie Guillen

Everywhere you look they have guys who do things you don’t see much of in today’s game. - Rocco Baldelli

Like a two-out bunt single to drive in a run in the first inning from an All-Star .300 hitter? Is this 1912?

Other teams complain about a dead ball. The Guardians play like they're in the Dead Ball era.

10-2 against the Twins and White Sox the last two weeks. 15-3 overall in the last 18 games. And Jose Ramirez is hitting .238 in September. They're getting great pitching and everybody is chipping in, nobody is carrying the offense.

They could clinch the division this weekend, or at least get down to a magic number of 1 or 2. That will give them nine games at home to get their key players some rest and set up the rotation for the playoffs. Hopefully the Blue Jays or Mariners will be in a dogfight right to the last day.

We should get to see a lot of Arias, Freeman, Brennan, and Benson over the next couple of weeks. Jose, Amed, Gimenez, Straw and Kwan could use some days off.

Is Guillen on crack? Because the Dodgers, Astros, and Yankees still exist...

Does he mean the best baseball from a Cleveland team in 20 years? (because even that isn’t true)

I assume he is complimenting the team that just basically eliminated his team from the playoffs...

I am pumped for this team....they are going to be playing with house money in October and I think they could do something really special

Nice national article on ESPN today about the Guardians, giving a lot of credit to Jose Ramirez and Tito in particular.

Makes me wonder how long Tito will continue to manage for, because this is the last year of his contract. I know his retirement is coming sooner than later but I hope he can stick around for at least a few more seasons.

If we clinch within the next week, you think there is a chance we see Valera get called up?
