Mamadi Diakite - The real Brobley

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Now I'm all like,

"Koby is leaving a spot open in case there is a deal to pounce on. Shrewd."

He will just convert him after the deadline if they want him for a playoff push.
The new rules with 2 way players allow them to practice and play so many games anyways that it’s essentially a 16th and 17th roster spot

Also with the Charge playing at the Wolstein center and sharing a practice facility with the Cavs, I don't think there is an easier situation to shuffle players from an G-league team to an NBA team. They could literally have a player be at the Wolstein center and have him walk over a handful of blocks to play for the Cavs.

I’m glad to hear this. I think it is a win-win and I could see him continuing to progress and eventually carving out a role for the Cavs. I was worried he’d be our next Danny Green and blossom into a key contributor somewhere else.

Excellent point. As exciting as Diakite is, with a combination of skill, size, and athleticism that we don't have much of on our roster, he hasn't played much since leaving college. He will benefit from playing, so a two-way contract this year is perfect. If he continues playing like he did in the preseason or we have frontcourt injuries, they can call him up. Give credit to Koby for being right in his prediction that Diakite would clear waivers.

It’s a little unusual to use a 2-way on a guy as old as Diakite, but given that he got a late start at basketball and is still developing, I like the move.

Which tells me they actually plan to use him quite a bit this year.

He’s not developmental.

Rather, they put him on the two-way to keep trade flexibility as we approach the deadline. If we don’t make a move to be a facilitator for someone at the deadline, we convert Diakite to a minimum.

Two-way rules mean we can play him up to 50 games. That’s plenty to know what we have.

This is the game I remember in college. Not only he made the game tying jumper but he tipped in getting that offense rebound to get him that opportunity.

Well, well, well.

Koby probably searched for my Facebook profile pic and got scared.

Still glad though. Koby must have scouted the market interest. I suppose he is well connected and liked with other gms. Cause he continuously allows them to fuck him in the butt.

Have a good week y'all! Whoop whoop

His feet are really good and he can move backwards smoothly and get steals from guards trying to put it over the top.

I think Diakite was actually miscast as a C. He is a SF/PF. It's time to groom him to be one. Especially for this team.. not because it's our weakest position, but because he fits so well with the pieces that we have. He will just need to crash the boards, play hard, shoot open 3's and attack closeouts. That's it. And he can do all of those things.

Really happy that Koby had a plan for him. And saving that roster spot is really smart. Koby knows he has a chance to slide into the DMs of some Wembenyama perverts and is also probably going to gauge throughout the season how Windler is doing. If he plays well and finds his role, then he sticks, if not then he is a trade bait an you have two open roster spots open.

Dom has his guy for the season. Hopefully this assuages the frustration from Eason and Agbaji losses.

IMHO this kind of guy and our second round stash picks are exactly what we need to do to get to the Spurs like consistency. We have developed a positive team culture, do the work in the offseason and play defense in season kind of attitude. There will be this kind of player showing up and looking for a place o be. We have a core of top athletes that came via draft and or acquisition, which we can supplement going forward. I am really looking forward to a fun time with this team.
