Mamadi Diakite - The real Brobley

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He looks great. I think we need to pump the brakes on him starting at the 3 anytime soon, but he should definitely make the squad. Great find by Koby.

He won't start. But it's not because he isn't a great fit there. He is. It's just that he doesn't have the rep yet. Hopefully he starts eventually. The fit is insane.

And I won't pump the brakes. IBWT knows how to fuel my cravings.

It's hard to see how we would not sign him, given numbnuts and brobley.. he gets minutes immediately. I would like to see him with Garland, Mitchell, Mobley and Allen just for kicks. I could see a bench with Caris, Okoro, Wade, Love and eventually Rubio, the occasional hot hand Cedi, being pretty effective ( obviously not all at once)

I am thinking Stevens needs to show something.. Windler needs to get on the court, Brobley is probably g-league, and Neto in garbage time or injury replacement..

Who knows if he'll stick, but as a UVA alum this makes me :).

I now live in IL and will always remember being in a sports bar full of Purdue/Big 10 fans watching 2019 Elite Eight game...

Had a late bloomer pedigree. Complete unknown from a small country. Older high school student who did 4 years in college.

He shouldn't be given much credit for good NBA ring, but he has chips at every level.

Not crazy a big man puts it together at 26. We've seen multiple guy's on this team empowered by the coaching staff. He says he loves to play ball, so he fits perfectly with this group.

He's light on his feet and has great timing on blocks. That 3pt foul on Jalen Johnson was actually beautifully under control. Johnson flopped.

This wasn't 1 good game. He for sure did it this game because of some highlight plays, but he got 5 blocks in the first game and had played solid defense throughout.

He's a 3 and D guy, just not a wing. He's a stretch 4

Don’t we already have the better version of this guy in Evan Mobley?

I don’t even want to hype myself about what he’s done in the preseason yet until he’s actually signed to the roster. JBB leaned on him last night with trust and he excelled in his role.

If I had it my way he would get the 15th spot and they would waive Nembhard and replace him with Cooper as well.

He's more NBA ready than any of the "other guys" not on the roster

I think our (including mine) obsession with Tower City is pushing Diakite too far too soon, but he definitely seems like as good a candidate as any to take that 15th spot and earn some minutes. I still question his lateral quickness and change of direction (defending wings and creating offense), but hes shown more than I thought so far.

Yea, this guy has energy game changing potential in critical game moments. Seems at some points the moment might be too big for him, but he has produced, hit clutch 3's, and been a terror. For some reason, I'm waiting for it all to crash down. However, at this point, I'm more excited about him than our 2 stash 2nd round picks.
