Wasn't sure if this or the pace thread was the best place to drop this. One thing I have noticed with Garland, going back to even his rookie year, is he really likes to play the game manager role when he is the primary ball handler. You see guys like Bron, Luka, and CP3 do this a lot too. They walk the ball up slowly, survey the D, find the best position to create a shot or pass and then take that action, which takes up half the shot clock. CP3 in particular has been like this even since his NO days when he was super fast.
I know that JBB has not emphasized a fast offense at any point, but unless we get a D'Antoni type offensive system in place, I think we will have to get used to a slower paced attack when Garland is initiating. I wish we ran more because we have the personnel for it with Okoro, Mitch and Stevens on the wings, Cedi in between, and Love/Wade as outlet passers and trailers. This would be a really good way to add some more offensive pressure, especially because our transition efficiency is really high but not that frequent a feature in the offense.
