They aren't a top team. They still need to figure some things out. I think they can do it and become that team, but this reaction to some pretty mild adversity is not good. They haven't really bounced back at all. I need them to wake up and play ball. Any one of those close losses wasn't a big deal on the road, but the 3 together were tough.

This trap game really sucks, but in all 4 cases, those 4 teams were playing below expectations and greatly exceeded their normal % and were on fire. That happened to the team last year too. There will be regression to the mean and it isn't just our team that does that. Good teams going through slumps try like hell to beat a hot team like the Cavs.

The one thing that will be fascinating to watch is how Darius settles in next to Mitchell. The toughest skill to learn, is maximizing opportunities, when you don't know when the next one will be. It is something countless, countless players struggled with in the LeBron era.

Darius needs to figure out how he can coexist with another great player (who demands the ball), while also producing himself at a high level....with a less predictable usage opportunity play to play.

This isn't a knock against Darius at all.........a lot of players struggle with it......but paramount to the Cavs ceiling as a team.....how Darius evolves in this area will determine how good this team will be in the future IMO. Mobley is going through this to a lesser degree, as an offensive role player.....so I'm willing to be pretty patient with the core pieces.

There was a play late in the GS game when DG was bringing the ball up court slowly and DM
was standing in the front court waving him to hurry to avoid a violation. Is that
something to resent

Not that play. DG had the ball up top and wasted the shot clock, no ball movement. Donovan came up to get the ball, and DG just mosied into the lane. Donovan was motioning for him to move as the shot clock was single digits, but Garland did not see or hear him. He was completely detached, and Donovan was frustrated. Garland ended up being in the way of the play, resulting in a TO. This was late 4th qtr, and a key possession.

Again, me trying to connect dots, this will be resolved, but I prefer sunshine and roses for our top two dogs.

Don and Darius were talking closely at the scorer’s table late in the game last night. Looked like Donovan was trying to keep Darius going despite being exhausted. I agree there has been some weird body language, so I found that reassuring. I’m not going to assume anything bad until we hear about it from someone reliable.
Yes, that's my approach. I also saw that during a break at the game. Donovan looked very positive and Darius was listening.

Lopez screens unlocked DG last night. Mobley and JA needs to watch how Lopez set his screens.

They set a double screen with Love and then Lopez, which switched KAT onto him. KAT dropped in coverage instead of putting a hand in DG's. Gave him an absurdly wide open 3. I don't know if that was designed or not but it was beautiful. JA and Mobley should set more double screens.

Can we give these guys more than 13 games (less than 6 actually playing together) to figure things out?

I mentioned...and i think you agreed, that they werent going to play well together right away and be prepared. Ultimately they will mesh well together, Lebron and Wade figured it out, but it takes time for 2 ball dominate players to figure out how to work together, it will happen.

Hoping our veteran Rubio would be able to bridge whatever rift Mitchell and Garland have. Their (DG-DM) chemistry on court along with Mobley’s 3pt shooting will determine if the cavs are a play in team or a bonafide contender.

Yeah, Don looked surprised.

For some reason the ESPN one doesn't work for me as there was a closeup on that one and you could see Don's reaction.

Why wouldn't he high five him there? I just see some weird chemistry issues between the two that comes from Garland's side. It's weird.
Fake news. You keep trying to make this a thing for some reason.

DG was clearly headed straight into the locker room, going around the ref who blocked Donavan from his view until DG was completely past him. How do you not see this?

one way for this to get resolved is for mitchell to take a step back. garland needs rhythm and confidence, while mitchell can just make things happen anytime.

so... have garland going at the beginning of the game, while mitchell can pick his spots because he can get his at any time at any point of the game. hopefully this establishes a better flow for both of them.

ideally this should not be the case, i fully expect garland to grow into this mental aspect of the game. on how he reacts when things aren't going his way. but the way it is now, a little more active feeding of garland is needed.
