Instead of drooling over picking up Moses Brown, perhaps instead consider asking yourself why someone as big, long, and athletic as Moses Brown has now been let go of the following organizations in just 4 NBA seasons after being undrafted out of UCLA in the 2019 draft:

POR
OKC
DAL
CLE
LAC
NYK
Would you rather have Moses Brown or Robin Lopez?

Can't believe the Nets beat Denver on the road. The Nuggets were 30-5 at home.
Denver got crushed at home a couple nights ago by the Bulls and then went and lost at San Antonio, you'd be hard pressed to find worse back to back losses by a top team this year. They are sleep walking right now. With Memphis struggling, Denver has pretty much locked up the top seed in the West already and right now they are coasting.

Be careful what use wish for. The Nets would be a very tough matchup for us. Everyone in their starting lineup is 6'5" or bigger, and we have to be the smallest team in the league 1-3.
Knicks are a way worse match up imo, we don’t have a match up for Randle when he puts his head down

All 6 of these teams who had Brown at one point or another chose to instead play a backup C who didn't freelance on defense, who could understand and retain their scheme, and who had at least some touch on their shot outside of a dunk.

He's been let go by several class organizations, respected GMs, and good coaches.

Damn - the Knicks beat the Lakers and the Nets beat Denver, both on the road. I was counting on those games to be losses. I guess hanging onto 4th place won't be that easy, but we do have a lot of winnable games on the schedule. We just need to get Allen back ASAP.

By that logic he was also picked up by 6 organizations. Look, no one is claiming Brown is a good player, but Lopez can barely make it across half court. Mobley had to play every single minute in the 2nd half as we were a -9 in the 9 minutes Lopez was out there. It was clear by November 1 that Lopez was done, and with Love now gone this team has a desperate need for a big.

We are up 3 games for the #4 seed with only 12 left. 7 of those 12 are against sub-.500 teams. Only 1 against a genuine contender. It would take quite a collapse to lose home court now. Brunson’s injury and the Durant trade helped us considerably. The bigger worry now is how we are playing. We haven’t been good since the break and I wonder if the 8 JBB has decided to roll with can win in a series. We have so few shooters and so little length outside of Mobley and Allen. We should beat either the Knicks or Nets, especially with home court, but we will beat neither with the way we’ve played lately.

Yep, no bigs behind Mobley and Allen (apparently JBB is through with Wade) and Okoro, Stevens, and Cedi are erratic from deep.

Still 12 games for JBB to work with his 8-man rotation (when Allen gets back) and fine tune the combinations. But without better 3-point shooting from Okoro, Stevens, and LeVert the best we can hope for is to hold serve on our home court in the first round and advance to a 4-0 or 4-1 beatdown against Milwaukee.

I’d rather have Whiteside
I’m just not understanding why we keep Lopez on this roster when you have players like Whiteside and Howard that could be more productive for us off the bench!

It’s because Altman wants a safe and friendly locker room. After KPJ incident he’s not signing anyone with possible attitude issues lol

Lopez is safe and friendly but in no way useful. I’d take a flyer on someone that may be a lil cray cray but has something left. This bench is way too thin. Only 12 games left to season and then the playoffs. Aren’t the coaches supposed to be able handle all the different personalities? Can you imagine Lopez trying to guard Embid in the playoffs if the need arises?

I think the concern is that their role would be that of rarely-used backup, and that neither of them would accept that role without making themselves a pain in the ass. If they would, I suspect they never would have been out of the league in the first place.

No, I don't think they are.

There are some personalities that most acknowledge cannot be "handled". Not reliably, anyway. Those are the people from which coaches/teams stay away because they've been burned. Could be playing time issues, refusal to fit their assigned role on-court, or a propensity to lead other guys astray off-court.

Can you imagine Lopez trying to guard Embid in the playoffs if the need arises?

No backup we're going to be able to get can do that. That's why we have Allen, and without him, we're inevitably going to struggle against Embiid. We struggle even with Allen.

The problem with those kind of guys that the league as a whole seems to be "inexplicably" shunning is that they're always carrying some kind of baggage that isn't readily apparent to fans. So when there are message board discussions, we're likely lacking some of the critical information that is available to the teams.
