More than anything, he is a victim of a farm system loaded with middle IF prospects that are ready to get a chance. Should you commit $12 million or more a year to a good player at the position when you could likely get a decent substitute or maybe an upgrade for a fraction of the cost?This is not an argument to keep Amed. But I do think it’s a shame that his contributions to the team(a good number being intangibles) are denigrated in the making of a case to not keep him.
IMO, one can make a case that we have better upcoming talent without denigrating Amed
