Nothing is certain with prospects, but they have a lot of them and Gimenez can play 2nd or SS so they also have flexibility for the position of the replacement too.

Yeah IMO Curry wasn't sent to AAA so he could be stretched out as a starter, he was sent to AAA for being inferior to Gaddis who earned the spot with the big club, and with that role in the big club came the spot starter / #6 starter role.

I must have missed something. Who has denigrated Amed?

It’s a general observation from being a reader of the board. You have a camp that thinks Amed is best for the team this year and beyond. and you have another camp that doesn’t, and in the argument it appears to me that they see the need to diminish what Amed provides, in order to make the point that someone else would be better. Which I don’t think is necessary.

I’m not going to call out this poster or that because that doesn’t advance anything.

I assume a lot had Andres. Hopefully that deal buys out at least one year of FA

With Stephan though and the temperamental nature of relief pitchers, I wonder if this is a deal that buys out a FA year or just a shorter term deal that gives him more security while eliminating the cost uncertainty and sometimes bad vibes of the arbitration process

A bit surprised on Stephan. Middle relief pitchers can go "poof" pretty unexpectedly. Interested to see how long they went with him and for how much per year.

It makes sense. Someone who has gone through the ups and downs he has, and not that long ago either with the Rule 5 draft, is probably going to value some security vs the risk of waiting to milk every dollar out of Arbor eventual FA
