So against these four teams it’s ok to have 4/5 rebounds in 40 minutes and giving up a 20 on the other end? This all has to do with effort.I can't wait to put all the doubters on the wall before the firing squad in the near future.
JA only has this kind of bad matchup against 4 teams in the NBA, and one of them is the Knicks.
And even then, ignoring the rebound matter -- just setting screens and getting Brunson in motion made Robinson sit the rest of the game on the bench.
I'd rather keep unless the trade is a "can't miss". I doubt that kind of talent is going to magically appear.
In the interim, I would like to find a big that can fit in between him and Mobley so that they can be staggered. Less of this noise would be happening if that were the case. Ideally, a younger Robert Covington type. Covington, at 32, almost 33 -- is making about $4-5 million more.
I don't like a player like Porzingis swapped with him. If he couldn't work with Luka, how does this work with the Cavs? Maybe if he were cheap enough to be the guy in the middle.
It's not OK, but the point is, that's it's not the norm. Now it should be a focus. Likely won't be fixed this series, but in the future. So against these four teams it’s ok to have 4/5 rebounds in 40 minutes and giving up a 20 on the other end?
What do big centers have to do with not chasing down loose balls? Both of their centers just flat out gave more effort. It's not OK, but the point is, that's it's not the norm. Now it should be a focus. Likely won't be fixed this series, but in the future.
Why did he play 40 minutes? Good lord and literally made zero impact!
Because we have no depth.
I love Allen and have no idea what has happen to him. His effort has been disgraceful, but we have no choice to play him.
Not playing him, forces us to play guys that aren't that productive even more. This is what having no depth does.
That's why its impossible to blame JB for things like this. He's not a good coach, but he's not had it easy by any means either.
I agree with much of what you said but you totally lost me with 2 games within 72 hours!! Come on, Really??But the price is paid with Allen looking physically broken after two games in less than 72 hours. He played big minutes while Hartenstein and Robinson are being kept fresh. Together they can put in effort and frankly take risks that Allen and Mobley cannot. I can say the same about the rest of our Big Four be side they are also playing extremely inconsistently and look beat up as well.
The Knicks have quality depth, so they can run nine or ten guys out there. As Cavs fans we can fool ourselves into thinking our depth are good... but just because I don't believe Cedi and Rubio should be playing big meaningful roles doesn't mean the end of our bench could do better.
The Cavs have a nice talented young core... but depth is severely lacking and cost us dearly in the fourth.

This is a league where 5 games in 7 nights used to be the norm, and Allen struggles with 2 games in less than 72 hours. This isn't the NFL, and for all the talk of physicality by the Knicks they've kept in clean, not like Memphis.
Steph Curry is 35. He played 43 minutes yesterday.
Ignore everything I’m about to say if I’m misunderstanding what sports psychologists do but…I honestly think if Jarrett is no regularly talking to a sports psychologist then he needs to start. His mentality is so weak
