I feel like this exact scenario has happened like 4-5 times in the last month and a half.

Imagine having a kid who is having a super career start, adequately playing four positions, including catcher...and doing exactly what we need offensively out of all those positions...and preferring to watch somebody else failing at it.

Fry is the better player, no matter what the pedigree...and produced at every level in his pro career.

Props to Tim Herrin for knocking a run and a quarter off his ERA since 6/23. Hopefully he can find his control again.

Shocker but I 100% agree with Bimbo on fickle bullpens. And I love to rip on our bullpen failures but acknowledge they could easily regain their 2022 form at any time.

Why isn't the Rays bullpen fickle when they seem to turn half of it over every year?
 
Also, in case anyone is curious.

We are pretty much a full run worse offensively in games that Gallagher starts, and that includes Zunino starts. We score 3.7 runs with him, 4.6 without him.

Friendly reminder our record when scoring 4 or more runs is 37-14. Under its 12-36.

Now get ready for 2 or 3 more Gallagher games this week.

Bullpen ERA for the Rays have got worse each year since 2021.

If you’d have told Tito/squad at peak low early May that they’d be mid/late July 2-3 back, would they have been underwhelmed?
