2022 Season | Series #48 | Guardians @ Rangers | Sep. 23-25, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Provolone. I love the Whiz but the MSG doesn’t like me
It's going to be hard to change my mind that MSGphobia is a placebo thing unless you truly have a glutamate allergy, in which case a lot of foods should bring out a reaction.

I liberally use MSG itself, soy sauce, parmesan cheese, tomato sauce, walnuts, mushrooms, etc. and have never run into a problem there but I guess it's different for everyone. Never actually done the Whiz thing though.

Party at my house when Guardians clinch division title.

I know very few people who like the "Guardians" rebrand. Part of me is hoping they'll change it again after some time but I know that's wishful thinking. Chances are the franchise will leave Cleveland before that happens.
I like it. At least you know one more of us!
I would rather have had Spiders, but you cannot win them all…very happy for the change in any case.

Someone tell Kilgore it's safe to come out now

Anyways, it's been a fun season of posting. Up, down, all around, and we are almost there to hosting a wild card series.
I’m around. Had people over tonight. Was checking scores, and it was incredibly gratifying, watching everything work out. Guards win, Sox lose, Mariners win, O’s lose. One more win, and then we can give our key guys some rest. Just don’t get them out of their rhythm.

I see. I did a taste test a few weeks ago at Tony Luke’s: provolone vs. Whiz. The Whiz won by a mile. It was sublime. Will only get Whiz wit, henceforth. Until my body rejects it.

I don’t love Guardians, but I never loved Indians (Native Americans didn’t come from India; they came from Siberia). I would have much preferred Spiders, for the history and the logo possibilities. I also don’t think they will rebrand again. I think they missed an opportunity. I’m ok with Guardians, but I will never love it. In any case, they need to do better with logos.

If you respond to that he has you right where he wants you

I'm with you and Kilgore personally, pro-name change but preferred Spiders and never got into Guardians.

I guess my level of disappointment with the name change might be higher though than with some jut because I think it's a marketing dud and we're going to feel the impact on revenue. But realistically speaking that was going to happen no matter what they changed the name to (although Spiders would've done marginally better IMO).

There was no reason for the name change. Nothing was offensive about the name and history/tradition means a lot to fans. It's central to sports. Name change was always going to be dud and worse than Indians.

I like the new name and logo. And a lot of people I know have come around on it. Saying Indians sounds weird now. The Guardians have given us the best regular season of Cleveland baseball since 1995. I think they got this one right.

Go Guards.

In your sphere*.

Feel like that’s the caveat in this. In your sphere you know very few people who like the Guardians rebrand.

Fact still remains that it was the overwhelming favorite amongst focus groups over the 3+ years of hammering things out. 3:1 over the Spiders.

A majority of people absolutely like it or it doesn’t effect them whatsoever, which is a win when you rebrand down to the team name.

Very much against name change but now I am over it. Maybe because G’s are winning. That is probably a big part of. But name and even the logo have grown on me
It is a unique name. And if you look hard enough you can see the Indians in the Guardians name. I grew up from the early 70’s with the Indians. They are like an old friend that has passed on. Missed. Always remembered
