2006 FA Centers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Mike Brown seems to think, or at least sell to the fan base that we can survive at back up center with drew gooden, and donyell marshall.

I guess Jahidi White for the minimum is not as imminent as some think..

This may be the first sign that Mike Brown is in over his head as a head coach. Z will miss at least 6 games this season. Losing 6 games because of lack of quality depth at center may cost you the 8th seed. As of now, I have the Cavs pegged as a 6th seed. If Ferry doesn't step in and sign a quality back up, you will lose a couple of seeds because of it and possibly earn yourselves a date with the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.

And no, Alan Henderson is not the answer. He's so bad at this point that the Bucks cut him before the ink dried on the trade that would've brought him to Milwaukee last season.

Maybe you guys can coax Shawn Bradley out of retirement. Pryzbilla is a priority sign for the Blazers and will not be allowed out of town. Paul Allen is loaded as you know so he'll laugh at the lux tax.

You can draft a servicable backup next season lottery or not. Paul Davis from Michigan State should be available when the Cavaliers are on the clock.

Oh yeah, you don't want to use the mle next year. That's Lebron_07's money.

are you out of your mind. shawn bradely, give me a break. that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard.

since when will z miss 6 games. hes missed 2 games in like that last 2.5 years, but all of a sudden he will miss 6. :thumbdown and those were from suspensions. and at the end of last year he missed some with the finger.

draft a back up bigman. bro, quality big men dont come out of the draft, they have to develope which takes several years. the cavs dont have a first round pick so your saying that the cavs should draft a bigman and expect him to play the back up roll and play well. thats not happening.

Don't talk about centers dude we are top 4 in the East. Unlike you we have a proven center not some arrogant piece of ish who got pwned by harrison and edwards..we will get a big man trust me..

YO TJ! Cavs at the 8 seed?! Dont confuse us with your Bucks!!! Wherever the Cavs place just know the Bucks will be behind them!!! The Bucks gotta worry about facin Miami, not the Cavs! Oh but im sure youll say Bogut will dominate Big Z! Keep dreamin buddy.....

You Cav fans are always good for a late night giggle. :chuckles: It's like you don't remember that your two best players (Z and LeYoung) choked away your playoff birth last season. I don't care who they were playing with, two all-stars should have been able to win ONE big game down the stretch last season. Everything can't be blamed on Jeff McInnis now.

Cavincali,

Shawn Bradley would be an upgrade over Anderson Varejao so don't front.

HPD,

The Cavs will be in a heated battle for positions 5-9. They are not a lock to make it although I predict that they'll finish 6th with the Bucks of course finishing 5th.

CDT,

Don't put too much stock in a summer league game. The Bucks fielded quite possible the worst team in the history of organized basketball around Bogut, so he really didn't have any help on the court. Z has a couple solid years left, but Bogut will put him in his back pocket sooner rather than later.

Z next season: 15.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.5asst
Bogut : 13.5ppg, 10rpg, 3.5asst (ROY)

Bucks 3 wins Cavs 1 win

Z has played through plenty of injuries in the past three years. There was a tendon pulled away from the bone in his shooting hand last year and he played through it. Before that, he was #3 in the league in minutes from center-elgible players. He will only miss time if he is so badly hurt he cannot possibly break into a jog. And as I'm sure you already know, TJ, there was a deal in place for Henderson to be cut immediately from the Bucks. He was only included in the Van Horn deal to make salaries match up. He only agreed to do it because he picked up an extra few hundred thousand dollars for his troubles after Dallas re-signed him. These deals go on all the time in today's NBA... it has nothing to do with Henderson's abilities on the court.

That's a solid take RandolphKeys and you're absolutely right about the Henderson / Van Horn deal. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that he's a straight up scrub at this point in his career. Both he and my boy Big Dog Robinson have fallen far from their Big Ten glory days. Sad but true.

Perhaps Z has overcome his injury problems despite the fact that he's a year older. He was a pain in the arsh against my Bucks due to his freakish size. Having Bogut on board as a legit 7-1 center will help my squad in that regard. You still need an athletic big so that you guys can run. Z is as slow as the love child of a koala and a three toed sloth. He'll still dominate teams that can't match his size. So glad that my Bucks aren't in that group anymore.

The love child of a three-toed sloth and a koala would be hairier than Z, but certainly far shorter. On a more relevant topic, the one thing that NBA fans consistently underrate about Z is his toughness. Z might be thin of frame, but he has a tough guy demeanor. The guy once beat the tar out of Darius Miles in a summer practice, just because he ticked the big man off. People forget that.

Bogut is still an unknown commodity in the NBA, but he seems to be just as slow as Z. I admit I like his passing. I think your Bucks are lottery-bound one more year, but they are certainly a team to watch. Simmons was a nice pickup for your boys.

I thought Z just throttled him? :chuckles:

If that's true Randolph, then Darius Miles is BEYOND a bust. He's an embarrasment to all he represents. Andrew Bogut is pretty tough too. Ever watch Steve Irwin the CrocK Hunter? Well that's where this guys from. He'll start worrying about NBA tough guys when they start living with salt water crocks, tiapans, brown snakes, and box cutter jelly fish.

TJ, you have to research what the bread lines were like in the Soviet satellite states during the downfall of Communism. I'd take the crocs and jellyfish anyday. And this is why I wanted Jasikevicius for the past three years.

RandolphKeys,

I believe that it is true that it takes big men, especially 20 year olds like Bogut, time to develop. I still think this College Player of the Year will average a double double his rookie year. But as you alluded to, his passing is what will seperate him from most centers. Some say he's already a better passer than Brad Miller and Vlade Divac. He's definitely more physical than that flopping pair of softies. The Bucks passing offense with TJ, Bogut, and Kukoc will be a thing of beauty.

Swing passes like this to the cutting and dunking Mason and Gadzuric and the deadly jump shooting of Redd and Simmons can only mean good things for the Bucks offense. I expect Bogut to lead all centers in assists NEXT season.

That got blown out of proportion ...the 'so-called' fight w/ Miles. I was there that afternoon because I had a kid from Buffalo that was getting a one day look by Paxson. Basically, Z got elbowed in the eye, got pissed, and pushed Miles in the back and swatted the back of his head as he was starting to run down the court. Then they were kept apart by a few guys and about 2 minutes later Miles slapped Z on his ass and they just smirked at each other. No big deal at all.

Back to the topic ....this team is weak at center and PF this year ...at least in the context of us truly needing a banger down low in certain games ....we don't have anything resembling a player with those qualities, and Jahidi White isn't the answer. I'd sell my right nut for Reggie Evans because that's exactly the commodity we need this year as a backup to Z and Gooden/Varajao.
