2013 Cavs Free Agent Targets

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I laughed out loud and quit reading when I saw Josh Smith referred to as any sort of leader.

Any words on if the Cavs are interested in Pekovic. I think he'd fit in great with Tristan, AV, and, Zeller as we're lacking a guy who can muscle people inside. Add in Pekovic to take care of that and the rest of the guys fill out a big man rotation that can cover lots of different lineups.

He's restricted and you don't want to get into a T-Wolves/Portland squabble but he's someone I definitely want to keep an eye on.

He's going to cost at least 13 mil if you want Minnesota to possibly keep from matching. We are more likely to get Kevin Love in a trade after someone offers Pekovic a max contract that Minnesota matches.

Say we get Porter with our pick, then use the Lakers pick, our 2014 1st rounder, and the Sacramento pick to trade up for Oladipo, then sign Pekovic.

2 or 3 years later, our (playoff) rotation looks something like:

PG: Irving 36, Dion 12
SG: Dion 24, Oladipo 24
SF: Porter 36, Oladipo 12
PF: Thompson 36, Varejao 12
C: Pekovic 36, Varejao 12

Is that a championship contender?

Too many variables this far out.

If we can pull that off at that very least we become the new Hawks.

I would argue that we wouldn't be able to get Pekovic because Minnesota is going to match pretty much any offer and be more incline to trade Kevin Love for a good amount of assets rather than let Pekovic leave for nothing.

It's probably a pretty good team, but I don't think I'd bet our 2014 first rounder on it. We have no real reason to believe we're not gonna be in the lottery again and next years draft is pretty stacked. I'm not a tanker, but I don't think we should trade that pick unless it is for someone pretty seriously awesome.

With next years potential depth no way we trade our 1st rounder. That thing could be worth gold and with our depth we could sadly be 1 injury away from the lottery again even though I hope not.

Yeah, I hope not too, but that 2014 pick is worth way too much to trade. We were terrible this year, how big of a jump could we possibly make? We might squeak into the playoffs in the east, but we could easily win 30-35 games and end up with a lottery ticket.

looks like we need to undo some of guitarlifters mind control techniques. it seem to be having a permanent effect on some

The Tank God does has he wills. Nothing can undo what he wills to be done. :chuckles:

You think we're definitely making the playoffs next year? Or that Oladipo is worth our 2014 first round pick, our 2013 #19 pick, and the mythical Sacramento pick (proposed trade above)?

If the 2014 1st round pick is worth anywhere near as much as people here are implying it does, then we should be able to get a really nice piece by trading it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if there's any asset we have that other teams are going to overvalue in a trade, it's our 2014 first rounder.

The east is piss poor.

If this team can't make the playoffs (even as an 8th seed) in Kyrie's 3rd year with 6 recent top 20 1st round picks then our players aren't as good as we think they are.

The tank is in the past, it is winning time now.
