2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like the Arec Burks trade for a 1st round pick will happen. I like.
It’s actually exciting watching us get assets. But hopefully years from now we do something with them.

You sure about the additional second round picks? I don't subscribe to the athletic but the two paragraphs that are free just say Knight plus a 1st. It then goes on to talk about how we aquired Burks and got two second round picks with him for Korver.

I think the confusion was here, pointing to us also getting 2nds when we initially traded for Burks. From Lloyd’s article: “Since the Cavs realistically will only pay Atlanta a couple of seconds for Korver, if they can ultimately flip him for Knight, a first-round pick and two seconds, that’s an absolute victory — even if the pick from Houston will likely be in the 20s.”

Maybe he's hoping to get an invite to this weeks Pebble Beach Pro Am. (golf) It'd be kind of funny to see him playing golf on television.

Especially if he ran off to the liquor store after the 17th hole...

I'm sure that's what it said at 10pm last night.

The text has changed in the article. I think Lloyd was trying to convey the 2 2nds received for Korver that came with Burks and put the two together, because the reference has changed and two 2nds from Utah are now there.

So my guess is Lloyd was putting all those assets in the same basket but made it sound like Houston was sending more picks, so the text was changed. Looks like an edit happened at 11:30.

Or I could've read it wrong later in the evening. If so, that's on me completely.

I wonder what is holding up that trade? Surely that's a pretty good haul for Burks. Can they include anything else? Do they have anything else?

Maybe we are trying to get Hartenstein? Young big with a 3 point shot. I also read Houston is offering the same package for other players so maybe they are the ones holding up the trade. I hope we do more then just trade Burks. But I doubt we can get anything for JR Smith and not sure what else teams would have interest in.

Sounds like maybe the Thunder are interested in Burks too. Trying to play teams off each other

Can't see what the Thunder could offer..can't trade a first round pick until 2024 and I don't see anything on that roster that fits the plan.

Memphis got into the action and are willing to trade JaMychal Green and Garrett Temple to the Rockets for Knight and a 1st unfortunately. The only thing holding that up is that Charlotte is about to trade for Marc Gasol and are requesting that Green be in that trade. Green is a more important positional requirement for the Rockets because they need size and versatility as a big as opposed to the redundancy of Burks which can be filled to a lesser extent by Temple. Just have to hope Charlotte can get Gasol and Green forcing the Rockets to deal with the Cavs.

Knight and Chrisse and a protected first for burks

Love the deal regardless. Now we can offload knight next year for a bad contract and a first.
